Default 2025 Houston Astros

Apparently no thread started for the 2025 season?

Well...

11 different starting pitchers so far with the current rotation being Framber Valdez,
Hunter Brown, Ryan Gusto, Colton Gordon and Brandon Walter.

No Cristian Javier, Luis Garcia or J.P. France this season (so far)
Ronell Blanco and Hayden Wesneski gone for the season
Spencer Arrighetti has missed most of the season

Bregman, Tucker and Verlander gone to other teams

Yordan Alvarez and Chaz McCormick out for quite a while now

Bunch of new players on the roster

And leading the division by 6.5 games with the 3rd best W-L record in baseball.

Rolling along.

Joe Espada for Manager of the Year!

They are doing very well and just swept the Phillies to boot. Looking forward to Yordan coming back. Hunter Brown should be leading the CY Young discussion so far this year.

3rd best record in baseball and zero players voted to the All-Star Team. We are inevitable.

He's definitely been a big reason the team is doing so well

Hobbywise I prefer to collect Yordan since he's such a big power hitter but Pena is definitely very very good

It will be very interesting to see what they do at the deadline. They need a bat in a bad way. Yordan is coming back, but he looked awful when he did play. Christian Walker can’t hit a fart ball to save his life; I’m so sick of being scorned by mid 30s free agent 1B. Walker isn’t even competitive. You also have to think Jake Meyers is going to come back to earth.

Hoping Gordon and Walter have some trade value for teams needing pitching, assuming Javier, France, Garcia, and Arighetti find their way back this year, but the team doctors and management seem inept with assessing and developing a solid recovery plan for the players.

Lastly, I’ve been done with LMJ for a while now, he’ sooooo volatile. Every start feels like a 12 round boxing match, with every pitch yielding maximum effort and much of the time not even competitive. I wish they would move one, but sigh, they are committed to him one more year. Think about this, LMJ and Altuve are the only guys left from that 2017 squad. Of all the guys they chose to extend him, and inefficient SP who struggled to get to 5 innings in 100 pitches. When I say struggle, like I said, it’s a true battle.

Overall, this season has been a refreshing watch. Gone is the year of ateam loaded with stars in their prime, and they still find a way to remain at the top.

Lastly, Cam smith! This kid makes every at bat competitive. An underrated pleasure to watch. His defense should yield him a gold glove. He’s currently 2nd in DRS and OAA and he’s never played the position before. In fact, he’s better than Kyle Tucker.

Another series win. Bryan Abreu and Josh Hader are absolutely amazing this year. They keep finding ways to win. Nice homestrand!

Unlike Tucker, Smith actually acts like he WANTS to be there. Let “King” Tuck have his money. He will never play in another WS. Book it. I for one don’t miss his laziness and apathetic approach. One minute he seemed energetic the other seemed like he could fall asleep in a game. Good riddance.

Oh look, Jeremy Pena has a fractured rib…3 days later. This teams medical staff is absurd.

Can’t say he won’t play in another, but I also wasn’t a huge Tuck fan.z. Very Aaron Judge when it’s nut cutting time in the playoffs. Basically a whole in the lineup outside of WS game 1 ( I was there, that one was a sad one lol.)

Paredes was an EXCELLENT addition and if cam smith fulfills his promise, this trade may end up being up there in terms of all time great trades for the team.

Wish tuck a solid career.

Now Yordan is going to see a specialist. What is the deal with the medical team? It’s wild

Sour grapes, lol. Obviously Im a Tucker fan so Im biased, but just because Kyle has a chill vibe doesnt mean he doesnt care. Tucker cares a LOT about baseball. He just does it in a classy way, unlike these hothead crybabies you would probably say have "passion". Kyle is an easy top 10 player in the game, and the Stros traded him away as they knew he was too expensive for them.

Kyle might've wanted to get out of the trashcan shadow too - he was lumped in with those teams though he never played on one. He's obviously thriving in Chicago and is a HUGE reason they're atop their division.

Houston did well with their return on the trade, and if Chicago doesnt sign Tucker long term its a W for Houston unless Kyle brings the Cubbies a ring this year. We shall see.

He doesn't have that many cards to collect yet

I bought a bowman 1st auto of his but other than that he has his other BCA and then an SP rookie card in series 2

His first rookie auto will be in TC

I would love to see an Astros vs Dodgers WS again and see Houston sweep them. MLB anti-Astro fan’s heads would explode

Largest loss in the history of dodger stadium. I legit dislike 4 teams, and the dodgers may be at the top.

Another series win. This team has something it hasn’t in a while, grit.
