Default My 2nd Nationals Appearance

Hello,

I'm trying to get some more insight on some of things that happened at The National as far as events through out the days. Any retailers host special sales or events on certain days?

I know more information will come out as it gets closer to the show.

First year with VIP pass as well. Last year i went Saturday in Cleveland for my first time.

The Nationals won't be in Chicago that week, they are playing the Astros and Brewers

Yeah as you know people get really butthurt when you "Nationals" instead of "National" . Not just here

Short of trade nights that may be organized by the National themselves, I don't know if any "events" planned. There are a number of pack giveaways and I assume they are doing the whole deal where if you buy a certain box at certain major dealers you can get special National packs.

Cant say what the manufacturers and corporate booth have planned. As not much has come out yet.

Dealers always adjust pricing as the show goes on. If something is hot, they will jack up pricing a bit. If sales are slow, they drop. Day one is always a feel out amongst each other. If one dealer is trying to get $500 for a box of cards, and the guy across from him is at $450. It is either a meet or beat situation.

Pete Crow-Armstrong cards sales might slow where the dealers come from. But he is on fire here in Chicago. And fans are paying up. So price on his stuff would be adjusted up, if dealers are selling his cards too quickly.

Just an example. You never know what "sales" will be had until the show starts to play out. I have seen $5 bins marked down to $3 or two for $5 by day 3 or 4.

If you are looking for something in particular then Wednesday is your best chance and I would not be afraid to pay up for it as it could likely be gone by Thursday.

If you are looking for bargains then Sunday is where it is at. A lot of the dealers will unload stuff they do not want to take back home with them.

There will be all kinds of random events going on throughout the day. The corporate area will have random celebrity and athletes from time to time. They also do pack/box wars, wrapper redemptions and kids breaks. They usually have signage up the day of for this type of stuff.

There is a main stage at the group breakers pavilion that will have group breaks running all day.

Since you have a VIP pass there is a VIP party on Wednesday with a few free signers.

Otherwise just follow the NSCC on social media and you will get quite a bit of information about stuff going on throughout the show.

Can’t wait to get to the national. It’s been awhile. I presume comping at tables is cool for the most part these days. Was watching some “cardcollector2” content today from fanaticsfest. Anyone know what app he uses to pull comps at his buying tables so quickly?

Since his employees use it in the shop, my assumption would be Card Ladder. I absolutely love that app and will be using it to comp throughout the show.

Ludex is the fastest for card ID and comps. No typing needed, can be raw or stabbed, just scan.
