The rookie standard to me is 96’ ARod, .358, might Wilson be challenging this? I’m impressed

Currently leading in votes for AL shortstops

I'll eat crow on this one, he's been great and held up pace very well

Struck out only 19 times in 276 AB's. Amazing in this day and age!

Can’t find a reason why he shouldn’t have beaten Witt so happy the votes went towards Wilson.

This is wild.

Wilson’s nod at shortstop marks just the third fan-elected starting assignment for an Athletics player since 1993, joining first baseman Jason Giambi (2000) and Donaldson.

So you're telling me he's not going to threaten to hit .400 as a rookie?

He's a better hitter than he's performed this month but he's not as good a hitter as he looked in April/May. A .320 hitter with 15-18 homer power is certainly baseball good, but have we seen that archetype be hobby relevant?

I feel like the last guy I can remember with that type of consistent skill set over the course of a decent number of years was Michael Young where he'd hit .315-.330 but usually with midteens power. I don't see him as a big hobby star, but then again hype can do weird things.
