Cool Ferrigno!

I've wrapped up some more framed pieces. Still got some work to do to get finished!

Star Wars piece... Mostly just went with Atomics of my 5 favorite images from the set, save the Vader, which is /99? Or /75, don't recall exactly.

Some Blade action. The character has always been one of my favorites!

Dani/Mirage, again, just one of my favorites.

This one started with the Rogue/Mystique /50 MM card. Love it. I wanted to do some non-fancy with it and this is what I came up with. Riddle me this, viewers...which one is Rogue and which one is Mystique on the MM card? I went with Rogue on the right...

Cool little Cap piece

I have so many favorite characters and she's another...

The Fred.Ian in the center might be one of my favorite cards of all time. I own 3(this one, a PSA 10 and the "rainbow" raw).

Ghost. Just a fun one, all around.

And what Marvel wall would be complete without a Spider-Man piece? I really like all of them but the Kaleidoscope and /10 Premier with Hobgoblin in the background might just be my favorite two!

More to come, eventually, next year perhaps...when I'm "finished"

Awesome displays orion!

The Spideys go without saying…being the monsters they are….I really like the Black Cat and Cap Marvel displays though. Those might be my fav.

It’s such a cool lot of kaliedo-shiny-PMG-ness (is that a word lol). But the autos mixed in are great too, for balance

I picked up 3 more Pop Century 1/1's. I know it's just marketing, but it's still nice to have a 1/1, even if there are 30 different versions of it. The Thunderbolts Topps Now card is pretty cool. I have one for Daredevil Born Again as well. I think it would look nice signed in person.

I always wanted one of these mice relics from OWL and was happy to get this one today. Missed it in the trade but got it when listed today on COMC.

I also finally made this auto booklet achievement. 6 years in the making but I was off by just one card forever.

I struck out at the card show last Saturday, but I swung by one of my LCSs ten minutes before closing and found an unexpected card for my Voice Actor and Mars Attacks! PC:

2013 Topps Mars Attacks! Invasion - Autographs - Pam Grier as Louise Williams

The end of an era for me. The Gretzky is the LAST card from my ePack days. Was on site since day #2, though my accounts have been deactivated since 6/25/2024. I have one pending redemption with UD still(22MM Uncut sheet...see what happens with that!) and then I'll request that they permanently get shut down.

Some odds and ends, for the most part.

My last FULL framed piece cards arrived in the Blades(my 2nd Blade piece!).

Some base sets from '92MM & 22MM...probably just to sell eventually.

My 4th(!) Wolverine Kaleidoscope from 22MM

Some graded action(with a random Tennis card tossed in...only my 2nd Tennis card)

Seinfeld set that I showed off in another thread also showed up...awesome. They're probably only in EX and maybe NrMT condition, but a fun little set nonetheless.

Gretzky...Guess this should go on the sports side but whatever, it's going here. What a total clusterF getting this card was and a massive disappointment. 90% of the reason I left ePack was because I was tired of spending $100k to get $30k back but the last 10% is just the disappointing way that this card turned out. It's just one of those it is what it is moments in my collecting life. Time to move on from UD...which is fine, they lost the license I coveted to Topps(which I hate and will be getting $0 from me as a collector...though I am NOT above making $$$ )

Few more cards in a few more framed pieces and I'm mostly just done with cards in general, besides the ole' flip-if-I-see-it-type-stuff...

Default June 2025 Pickup Thread

Phew since day #2 of epack…end of an era indeed. That’s probably bittersweet in some ways. It’s a nice diverse shipment to end it on at least. I’m partial to the MM obviously, especially the wolvie kaleid…but those Seinfeld are neat- was totally unaware of them.

I may be missing it, but what’s up with the Gretzky being a sour note? I don’t know hockey at all so maybe I’m clueless…was it the way he signed it? If nothing else it’s an auto of an all-time great at least.

One good thing about being done with epack…much easier on the wallet I’m basically off there now that marvel is finished.

Not bitter, mostly sweet. That place ended up being nothing but a stressor vs something I enjoyed.

Gretzky is a long story. Shortest version of that would be that it was supposed to be an inscription that I(10~ people/cards, really) got to pick. 16 characters of my choice. I redeemed it over a year ago and gave them what I wanted, which was as vanilla and easy as it gets...his nickname.

Got an email from the new CS manager 2 months later asking me...what I wanted inscribed. I said I told them(regular CS) shortly after I redeemed it but rattled it off again. I was asked at that point if I'd take one that says "HOF 99". I said no thank you.

I was told it'd be done with what I wanted signed by September(ish). That came and went, nothing. Emailed and was told it'd be November. Came and went, nothing. Emailed again, was told he wouldn't be inscribing anything with his nickname because he was too modest. Huh? Was told I could get the card NOT inscribed plus another HOF auto by December. I said no thank you, I want what I initially asked for. Crickets for about a month, then said he'd see what he could do.

January came and he let me know it'd be done in March or something. I said alright. March came, got a message that he was fully refusing to do any inscriptions anymore but that they'd try again in April, as they had a signing. April came, went, nothing. Got a message that June 7th for sure he'd be signing and they'd attempt then. 7th came and went, nothing. I emailed again and said I just wanted this whole mess to be over, basically. They said since Edmonton was in the Finals, it'd be the 20th. Ok, I understood that. Day after they got smashed by Florida(Again!), I get a email from Fedex that something is coming from UD. Shows up with the inscription I denied a year earlier and the cherry on top, with a crushed corner. I emailed my displeasure with the whole situation...got told by the CS Manager that he'd run my message by "upper management". Which, whatever, that's fine...but I ended my email to him saying I didn't want any compensation OR a reply...just kind of wanted to say FU before I didn't do business with them again. HAHA.

In the end I got what I got. It's fine, it's a Gretzky inscription, which for some reason he WILL NOT do on cards but does on memorabilia all the time. Make sense of that. But I suspect I got what would equate to a few thousand dollar card, when I wanted and was owed...would have been worth 2-4 times that...since again, he has never signed like that. Instead I ended up with a generic FU on my way out the door. Pissy about that and beyond that 22MM uncut sheet I still have there...no reason to hold back anymore.

That's as close to what I remember as possible...could be "off" by a little...but damn close

Chris Carlin, you are missed Sir, you are missed.

Man that’s a convoluted situation….and that’s the short version, yeesh! That would be frustrating dealing with UD as such (and as you know I’ve had my annoyances dealing with them as well….to the point in my case, I also eventually just said screw it and gave up trying).

I don’t get it either…I mean there are some actual controversial inscriptions people might try and I could see that…but his famous nickname?

That’s a bummer such an awesome hit has to turn into such a long and frustrating endeavor. Still a huge card no doubt.

Nothing big but just got this back from cgc today..... I've just been buying raw cards from this set on comc and sending them in to cgc.... this is the lowest grade I've got so far but grading cards from 1957 without seeing them in person is definitely a gamble

I dont grade cards, but a 4 seems really low for that, there doesn't appear to be anything majorly wrong with it from the pics - do they tell you why it graded so low?

Unfortunately they don't let you know what's wrong with the card... the 4 really surprised me though because on pictures I'm not seeing why it's a 4...

Usually a 4 is due to a crease. I would try it under some good light and look at it at various angles.

That is the risk I take when buying on comc... they don't really list list the issues and the scans don't pick up everything... so it's been hit or miss... I've had a card from the set come back as high as a 9 and now 1 as low as a 4...

Uno mas...

1 more card(each) in 2 different frames and the framed Marvel pieces for the closet are "done". 12 in total. Star Wars(top of the closet) & the shelves(wire framed on the ground) have a little way to go, but the shelves are random(ish) stuff. Marvel/Non-Sport, but random(ish)

Looks great! Must feel nice to bring the Marvel projects to an end.
