That’s such a lazy take, but not surprising honestly.

Lol.

Literally backed by facts. League wide the WNBA would rank with the Wizards and Jazz in terms of field goal percentages. Two NBA teams intentionally tanking.

I love how the prevailing narrative in here is that Reese is a doofus for claiming Clark isn't the only reason the people tune in (which they're right..she's an idiot), but also try to state the league is so rich in talent that the disparity in viewership is headscratching.

It's literally one chick saving the WNBA right now. Unless they can find a way to replicate her dna a thousand times over, they're always going to be stuck in this space. Which is okay. If you enjoy watching, then enjoy watching. But for the vast majority the games feel like mens AAU ball.

So 12 games into her WNBA career, Paige Buckets is averaging 17.7 pts/4.7 reb/5.8 assists/1.8 steals/0.8 blocks. Her shooting efficiency (45% FG/31% 3-pt) is down compared to her college numbers, but that's the be expected facing much stiffer competition in the WNBA.

FWIW, her shooting percentages are actually better than Clark's (39%/30% 3) this season.

Paige is out for today's game with a knee injury.

What is it with all the injuries to key players in the WNBA this year? Caitlin, Paige, A'ja, Nepheesa Collier, Alyssa Thomas and many others have missed multiple games with injuries so far this year and the season is barely a third done.
I'm sure they are still hyping up the "physicality" of the league.

Paige Buckets an All-Star game starter! Hopefully she's healthy enough to suit up.

I won't lie and say I watch a lot of WNBA games, but when I tune in it's just boring to watch (i.e. nobody is making flashy dunks that make your jaw drop). IMO the main appeal of CC is that she plays like Maravich. That style causes a lot of turnovers (she's leading the league by a wide margin), but it's a better product to watch.

Yes. She's the only female that's somewhat sidestepped traditional male dynamics. Unless any of these women start dunking consistently, it's probably going to be her on a popularity island.

I actually watch a decent amount of games. My 14 year old is a fan. We will go to Cleveland games when they are back

Paige doesn’t move the needle. Not even a little

Same way that Sabrina or Wilson doesn’t

That’s just reality

Clark drives it all

That’s also reality

PB with an uber efficient 23 points on 8-11 shooting. Looks like her knee is just fine.

Paige was cookin' tonight! 44 spot on 17-21 shooting, 4/4 from 3, 6/6 from the line. Think she pretty much ended the ROY debate.

Assuming Clark ever sets foot on a court again, this should be an enjoyable rivalry, mostly because of the two great talents at the same position, but also because of the contrasting styles. All good for the sport.

Paige is having a better rookie season than Clark and is a much more likable player, yet it's nearly crickets.

I wouldn't go that far.
