Got this bad boy back a couple of weeks ago. I must be slow, because I can’t seem to find a pop report for 2024 Gilded.

That is sweet! I love Bruce.

7 graded total, 3 PSA 9, 4 PSA 10.

That being said, it’s one of the best conditioned cards in the entire set, with by far the highest gem rate.

Did you get the card via a break or purchase?

Thanks for the info.

I pulled it! Broke down and bought two boxes. Got this and a Kyren Paris auto /5 (which also gemmed).

Nice! They are impossipull at one per 24 boxes!

At close to $1500/box, it would cost you $36,000 to pull any single from this set!

Congrats again, especially with the gem!

Congrats on the buy. Truly a nice card. But just cause you paid doesn't mean there weren't shenanigans. MIGHT just mean the person doing the shenanigans got what they wanted.

True. Will be interesting to see what the next one goes for whenever that is.

Looks like the sale went through.

Though shenanigans can happen in any auction.

It is strange when some people bid at just $5-$10 increments at a time.

Good rule- never bid more than what you are willing to pay.

Still could be a good price relative to what the Ohtani sells for.

It’s getting more common to have no current active auctions, now seven months after product release.

I’ve counted at least 18 of the 25 superfractors have surfaced, that’s a pretty high percentage opening of a product.

I was the the other bidder. I always bid in $5-$10 increments, mainly cause it's a simple button on the app. I also like the ping when I get outbid, so I can consider if I want to go further. I bid on hundreds of things a month in a similar way, so sorry to make alarm bells go off.

I can't say it's an effective strategy though. Congrats to the winner, was bummed to miss out on the card.

Well, mystery solved.

No shenanigans done.

I am sure you would have paid if you had won.

I still don’t think the closing price was outrageous given the rarity of the card.

One thing for sure is that multiple people are going for a set.

Best of luck on the next one!

I extended $100 beyond where I wanted to be, but would have happily added it to the collection.

Missed out on the Tatis too, but frankly, I hate Tatis, so didnt fish too hard

It appears either Judge or Crow-Armstrong may be the next cards to break the 4-digit barrier raw if either stays hot, behind Ohtani and Skenes.

Yeah, I barely got over the disgust having to pay hundreds for his card just for the purpose of trying to complete this set.

As mentioned before, Bobby would have been a better selection to replace Tatis in the set, but I also understand why Topps chose him. He is an exciting but tarnished player.

Every set collector has to make these compromises however, lol.

They should have included Jazz. That may have gotten me to break a few piggy banks and buy one.

I think of the remaining rookies, Elly, Wyatt and Chourio all have the possibility of breaking that four-digit barrier one day, but not during their sophomore campaigns unless they get scorching hot.

Chourio is looking like a 20/20 guy. I’ll be buying his Gilded Storm dirt cheap in a few years

Let’s just hope there are fewer than 24 set collectors out there!

Sp signature baseball in 1999. Exquisite flashbacks basketball in 2009-10.

I don’t attempt challenging sets very often (as you can see only once a decade or so) but sometimes a product just draws you in.

No better way to celebrate my 20,000th post than with the most gratifying feeling in the entire hobby - completing your set!

^ fake collector

On a serious note, congratulations on completing the set! With a base print-run of 24 (or whatever), it's definitely a tough one to complete.
