If I end up going, I’ll be looking for a low grade Jackie Robinson 1950 Bowman for my son.

Default Non Sports Cards and Random Sports Cards

Honestly, I'm really hoping to see some more Star Wars this year that would be nice. Last year there wasn't much.
Yes i know it's a sports card show but wait till you see how much pokemon is going to be at the show this year.

But other than that, i'm looking to just pick up some quality graded cards that catch my eyes of young NBA Stars and Micah Parsons of the Dallas Cowboys.

Howe, Chamberlain, Bird, Marino and Payton were supposedly issued a number of ways, I'm unclear if any of them were ever pack issued though. There's even differences in that some are numbered and some aren't, but I'm not really being too picky at this point, at long as they have the diamond holo on the back, I'm good to go.

There might be a Frank Thomas as well, not sure, definitely wasn't made as part of the usual 10 card set like the others are. I would like to include the signed Mantle & Griffey as well, but those are way beyond me price wise, lol.

I'm pretty sure there was a thread, I think it was in the baseball forum, where someone was putting together the whole UD auto set, all years.

If you can find that, that'll let ya know who had what

As always, looking to buy any and all 1975 Topps, Mini and OPC George Brett rookies. Also looking to buy his 2017 Topps Rediscover rookie reprint in bulk at $1 apiece.

I hope there are a decent amount of non-sport/pokemon as well

You know, I find it fascinating that those who choose to respond to this thread are looking for the stuff that is a little older, more rare, things that can't be found so easily (my kind of club). Yet, all you ever see for sale here and in the Facebook groups is the ultra modern stuff that is a dime a dozen, overrated and overpriced prospects. Give me those late 90's, early 2000's refractors of HOFers, that I missed during my hiatus from the hobby and I am happy.

P.S. I'm so bummed that I won't get to go this year. I told my wife, no family vacation next year. I'm going to the National.

I think it's due in part to demographics/who can afford to go to the entire show and have the resources to buy mid-high tier vintage. There's also the factor of being able to go to one place at one time rather than waiting for it to show up on eBay and looking at cards we can only dream about owning. The younger generation didn't learn the lessons of the junk wax era like most of us did. In theory it's similar investing in gold vs stocks.

I have a very modest budget compared to most but aside from a few modern wrestling cards, everything on my list is pre-1980. I came out of attending my first National 2 years ago with a desire to PC Milwaukee Braves cards and pre-war vintage that's in decent shape. I view the newer stuff as "who's going to be left holding the bag" when the bubble bursts once again. You see the companies themselves preparing by merging to protect themselves for the day that people stop grading base and the already graded base doesn't sell for anywhere near the cost of grading.

I mean why bother traveling just to look for cards you can find on here Or Facebook 10 times a week. It makes sense that people who can afford to travel to look for cards would also be looking for types of things they can’t find at home.

Personally, The National has become a yearly trip for me and my dad. We get away from life for a couple of days.

He very rarely comes home with anything, he collects vintage nodders/bobbleheads. So he's done walking the show pretty quickly.

But it's great to just get away from life and work, walk around with my dad, point out stuff we've never seen before and then just go for a nice steak dinner.

Can't find all that on FB Marketplace

I will be looking for St. Louis Cardinals PMGs, 24KT, Star Rubies, and modern 1/1s. I'll also be looking for Musial signed 52/53 Bowman or 58 Topps, or a non-autographed Hunter's Wieners

(And Cardinals PMG Gem Masters)

I'll have some 90's and 1/1 stuff of mostly non-Cardinals in hopes of trading with another 90's collector.
