Can anybody actually explain the appeal of Sapphire?

To someone like me, it basically nothing more than an entire product line built around a moderate popular color parallel.

IMHO, the only color parallels that will stand the test of time will be Blacks and Golds.....nobody will care about any of the other zillions of colors.

It's the cream of chrome. If shiny stuff isn't your thing then I can understand not getting into it. They feel and look premium ... every card. :shrug: I think most collectors like it (though not all obviously). It's the next "chrome" now that chrome isn't all that special.

I’d add red to that list. But yes, think only those parallels will have a specific demand in the future from this era of cards.

Sapphire is like the Ginter X of chrome. Higher hit rate, but few versions of parallels. Sapphire isn’t completely watered down like lots of other products. You basically have 5-6 color parallels (/1, /5, /10, /25, /50 and /75 - believe autos are sometimes /99 though ), a couple insert sets, and higher concentration of “better” autos. And aesthetically it looks pretty decent…like Ginter X vs base Ginter.

Since they removed atomics from Bowmans Best, this is the only place you can get that similar look. Sapphire is one of my favorite products, but I usually just buy singles since wax is crazy overpriced

Not that I really thought I was going to get it, but I want to see if Topps has screwed up Montgomery Club account access by going to the "SHOP" login as opposed to just the e-mail and password. IIRC even the montgomery club orders are subject to availability and I also believe they take it down after 24 hours. Could be wrong on that last bit ...

It worked when it was live and yes, I got redirected to the SHOP login in order to see the item and it was fine. Nothing is screwed up.

Ok, thanks. I'm many time zones behind where I'm usually at, so I didn't see anything until well late in the day/night, and usually unless they sell out, they seem to still be "live" for a while, and I can't imagine this sold out at that price

Did they take some of the sapphire off this year's Montgomery club benefits? I hate how they have that disclaimer about adding or subtracting products. I seem to remember getting access to bowman baseball sapphire last year. That's supposed to release June 4 I think I saw this year. So, I guess they took that off Montgomery club this year. I get it that they want to branch out to other sports for releases. However, if doing that, they ought to offer a Montgomery club for each sport. I have 0 interest in soccer or Star Wars or unlicensed basketball or football.

If it's museum collection included, I think last year, that was not a hard set to buy without Montgomery club. The complete sets are ehhhh...Nothing spectacular. No numbered cards, just the Montgomery club logo. That was a nice addition, but not worth the $150.

It was on the list when we purchased I feel like but they changed the list and added more non-baseball stuff. If they do that more, I’m out for next year. I only joined bc of sapphire and Brooklyn collection. Midway through last year, they took that away. If they take more baseball sapphire away, value isn’t there for me. I’m sure lots of people like garbage pail and Star Wars, but it’s not for me. $150 for presale on one thing that I actually want isn’t really worth spending $150 unless they juice up the sets.

Find the above post for what was on the list when I bought the renewal for 2025. The only change I've seen explicit notice about was 2025 UFC Sapphire is replacing Inception Basketball.

Nah fam. Not for myself anyway. If you love UFC and you know this product has a nice RC class or desirable autos go for it. I'm waiting on the last 3 releases personally.
