But if I ever buy a card with intention to flip on COMC and not ship to me then I should always be on reseller mode since I'll save $0.25 per card that way?

So COMC's running up all these charges and fees and yet the website barely even functions properly lately.

Ya'll will complain about anything

Raising the prices will slow down shipping requests but not buying

In theory, it will cause more people to wait to request shipping until they have a bigger order

The $19.99 bulk option was a smart move

Not true at all.

Comc is just an easier way for me to fill sets and saves me time in the process. I am have been ok with overspending as it saves me time at shows digging but this is now just ridiculous.

I currently use comc to buy cheap common cards to fill sets (And am already overpaying at comc). Paying extra per card for shipping changes that 100%

I always wait for promotions for free shipping. Now that option is dead, and have no desire to spend $20 for shipping 62+ cards.

I have no interest to continue to overspend for common cards if I have to pay $20 for bulk shipping that's a deal breaker. I could personally care less on how long shipping takes as long as I get the cards. They are all going to PC and in set boxes anyways not to flip.

I will now be using Sportlots and Beckett more and am going to start to have to go to more in person shows to pick up set needs as I have no desire to pay $1 per common card when I can get them in person for a dime.

I do believe sales will drop at least the Number of cards maybe not dollars wise. They will set on a lot of unsellable cards. Maybe more port sales of the cheap stuff. There are a lot of collectors that will go looking at other places.

Start of 2024 it cost me $4.99 for 100 cards at the end of 2024 it was $5.99 for 100 cards. Now it would be $19.99. It boils down to another 14-cent on a dollar or less card for me.

Yes, you don't have to pay shipping up front.

Here's the current stats for the last 30 days. Let's compare this in a month.

I'm guessing buying and selling will drop off substantially. Maybe even consigning might even drop off a bit.

The extra shipping fee (COMC and ebay) might tend to raise SRP's though.

Those numbers are hard to believe as there are a lot of cards that do not have SRP

Those number don't mean much. They just reflect SRP, not actually sales. I just thought I'd toss them up for comparison a month from now.

I think Beckett is still more expensive than COMC. I’ve used Sportlots more for set building and COMC for player/team PC. Beckett I’ve bought from for PC, but it’s really not conducive for lower dollar cards, as there are very few sellers who offer reasonable shipping. I think in the long run, COMC buying and shipping bulk on larger quantities is still cheaper than buying from 20 different sellers on Beckett and paying $5 minimum shipping to each seller.

Out of curiosity, how is COMC announcing the changes? Was there an email? Social media posts? I haven't seen it yet, but maybe I just skimmed right on past it.

I think initially on their Blog. (correct me if I'm wrong)

It was lame how they blamed the shipping increase on what was happening in the news (they weren't specific, tariffs?!?). Canada/USA/Mexico is still a free trade zone, right?

I was about to finish buying cards. I usually buy 50 to 100 and send them out. Then I saw the $19.99 shipping fee. WTF?! I immediately went to BOMC and saw this thread. Are they crazy? This will probably be the last time I buy from them.

I had to laugh that they blamed the tariffs that didn't even happen

I figured an increase was coming BUT not the way they rolled it out. SURPISE!!!

I'm on a lot of trading sites and for the last year or more. I have seen more and more members not doing small trades. Statements like this. "Trade must be worth the cost of shipping"

Cost of shipping is not the only fee going up. Read their blog.

I find it disappointing that if I would have just shipped my 200 or so cards when I wanted to I would have paid $8.99 but since I was waiting for the shipping bonus to get paid out I now get the pleasure of spending $24.99 even after the shipping bonus is applied. Quite the promotion, yes I get a discount but you almost tripled my cost of shipping by waiting for your “bonus”. Not the way to get more business from me. COMC has had a slew of issues that have almost gotten me to use their platform significantly less, but I always stuck around. I really think this one will get me to step away for awhile.

COMC Auctions are the worst way to realize value for 99.9% of cards so not too concerned there

Maybe the standard ebay auctions. The chuckleheads in the early hours of the eBay live stream regularly spend $4 each on cards that sell for 77 cents on site. It's amazing how few of them check to see the available inventory before bidding like that. There's definitely enough fluff built into the stream to allow everyone to look up the prices of cards on site before they activate the bidding window.

is the only card wiping service comc offers the "pre grade" for $5? I thought there used to be a $2 wipe service but looks like they might have got rid of it

They got rid of it. They also got rid of the more important service, the ability to assign a grade to a card, which was originally $2 and applied to all cards, now is $6 and only for modern cards.
