Default MLB Hologram Cards

I find these cards to be very cool. Where you can look up the hologram code, and find the exact game the swatch was used from.

My question is, what are the sets these are from?

Couple I have found:

Topps Tribute Stamp of Approval
Topps Definitive Patches
2016 Topps Strata

What are some others?
Any other memorabilia cards that are similar?
(stating specific event)

It's a nice idea in concept—they help with authenticity and preventing fake patches—but those examples really take up some prime real estate on the patches.

Agreed. Might be nicer to just have it on the back of the card instead of on the patch.

That would certainly be more visually appealing, and let people see where the patch is from. The downside, however, is that someone could then (more easily) swap out the original patch with a fake one.

The MLB Debut patch cards put the hologram on the back of the patch, and have a clear window on the back of the card where you can see it. It's a more complicated process, which is probably why it wasn't done on the cards above, but it's probably the ideal middle ground.

True, but it'd def make it harder having to replicate the exact patch pictured tho, right?

These are the only real relics where there is proof of the relic being used by the player in an MLB game.

Maybe this is a stupid question as I have never owned one with a sticker, but couldn’t those stickers just be pulled off and placed on a different card?

mlb authentication stickers (as well as PSA, JSA, Beckett stickers) are tamper proof and will leave behind some of the stickers when removed, so there's no worries there

Good to know, thank you.

So that means the old relic will have the residue, but the one that the sticker was put on, may look legit.

No, the sticker you try to remove will show clear and visible damage as the image/hologram will tear when being pulled off.
