Watched “Companion”.

A good movie and enjoyable throughout, but not really horror.

I was going to sub to Showtime to watch it once it wraps but I’ve heard nothing but bad things about it.

It's been pretty much the same from the start in my book. It looks like they're finally getting rescued next season, if there is one, which seems likely, as the ratings have increased from season to season. I imagine they'll probably wrap it up pretty soon even if it is renewed, but that hasn't been decided, or at least announced, yet.

I read they at least had five seasons in mind. I just didn’t care for the adult storyline and how it has played out this season. Not to mention, they were already rescued!!!! Until they weren’t. Once that happened, I lost a ton of interest. It made zero sense. Literally zero sense, in my opinion.

I’m trying not to spoil it in case there are people who do want to watch, but you don’t get stranded on an island for well over a year, almost get rescued, but decide on something else instead.

I’ll finish it out, as I’ve lasted this long, but they really need to turn it around and I’m not seeing how they do it which is unfortunate bc it had a ton of potential.

Heard of the show, and know the premise only..

But apparently Juliette Lewis stormed off a convention panel not long ago after complaining openly about the writing and her character in particular

The new I Know What You Did Last Summer trailer came out today. The acting looks bad even by slasher movie standards and man Freddie Prinze Jr. looks like he’s about 75 years old. I adore the original but the premise doesn’t really lend itself to a franchise. 28 years later some more teens think they accidentally killed someone in the same small town and are stalked by him a year later?

Well I made it all of 15 minutes into In a Violent Nature that's now on Hulu before I just turned it off. Hopefully I made the right decision.

It won the Fangoria Chainsaw Award for "Kill of the Year", but that comes later in the movie.

"Dead Mail" is new on Shudder.

A Midwestern-made indie thriller with horror elements, it's set in the early 80s and concerns a man obsessed with sound and the keyboard designer who he thinks can help him attain the perfect one. The basement-kidnap tale intertwines with the local post office which employs a different man who is especially adept, in the pre-Internet age, at figuring out how to deliver letters that have been routed to the dead letter office (meaning there is some issue with the address). It all ties together in the end. It's designed to look like an early 80's movie and fittingly, the music score is quite prominent in the story, almost like a character, as in the John Carpenter movies of that era.

7.5/10

I saw it in the theater, it plays better when you are a captive viewer.

I am a hardcore enough horror fan to appreciate the “Terrence Mallick directs Friday the 13th” energy but it is sloooooooow.

Wolf man was a disappointment. It started off well enough but fell flat.

Sat thru that crap last night. HORRIBLE Acting, Very cheesy movie. 90 Minutes I'll never get back. Shame that Jordana Brewster was in it, I enjoy her in the FAST&FURIOUS movies

Signed up for Apple+ free month so I could watch "The Gorge" tonight.

Has anyone seen it yet?

The wife and I both watched it. Not really a horror movie and not really a good movie either lol. I like both the actor and actress and thought the preview looked great. My wife and I both agreed it was a let down.

It was OK, but the Apple+ highlights really are their continuing series, the best two being:

Foundation
For All Mankind

Severance, Shrinking, Silo, The Studio, and The Big Door Prize are also pretty good. Monarch is recommended if you like Godzilla and other giant monsters.

Of their concluded series, I recommend Mythic Quest, Disclaimer, Ted Lasso, and Servant. They also have the WWII series Masters of the Air, which was the followup to Band of Brothers and The Pacific which both aired on HBO. Bad Sisters is a little more soap opera-ish, but I enjoyed it.

Their best movie is CODA (which won Best Picture at the Oscars).
Others worth a look at Cherry, Killers of the Flower Moon, Napoleon, and The Tragedy of Macbeth.

They've got a couple of good documentaries, too, on Michael J. Fox and the Beastie Boys.

Back to horror, the new Final Destination looks to be doing pretty well.
Might go catch that one tomorrow.

I actually liked it, but I like a lot of bad movies. It gave me a "Doom" meets "Silent Hill" vibe.

If your school library had any of these Crestwood books like mine did, you were a lucky kid indeed:

We weren't allowed to run in the halls, but several of us would walk very briskly to be the first to get to these!

Here's the back cover design, which I think was the same on all of them:

Renewed for Season 4 today.
Apparently, the Season 3 finale was the most-watched episode of the series so far, so that probably helped.
Producers have said they would like 5 seasons, but could probably wrap it up in 4 if they had to.

Oh I'm all in for another season. I've invested way too much time into this to not see it through to the end. Hated last season, but I'm still pumped. Nothing is worse than investing time into a tv show only for them to cancel it on you, so I'm glad to see it's coming back.
