Asking those with more knowledge. I have EVGO and have for a while. It's running at close to double what I entered and has been rising again after earnings.

Does this feel like a continue to hold option, or something to take the winnings if you will and move on?

I never think of things as an all or none. If you are undecided, you can always trim a bit and have the best of both worlds.

I don't have any more knowledge than anyone else here but here's my take on EVGO and your situation.

If you're at a double I would at minimum take half off the table so you can't lose anything on the trade, you can reallocate that capital to something else.

I think the company itself is just not a good long term name in general and I'd just take a double and be happy.
  • It's losing a lot of money and the losses are getting wider.
  • Mgmt has been diluting share holders and will continue to do so. Their ATM program still has $180M to issue new shares.
  • Poor margins and high fixed costs to manage the charging infrastructure
  • Trading below 200DMA

Basically, they have to significantly improve margins and scale before management dilutes which I don't think is possible. It's just a bad public company and I would not want to own it.

Posted April 25. LOL. Have missed out on 500 points on the S&P since.

Be careful who you’re listening to when it comes to trading/investing advice. A 95% chance the person on the other side of the keyboard can’t evaluate the market environment objectively.

The people posting online talking about being “all cash” aren’t serious investors anyways.

It’s a catchy, fun thing to say but when they claim they’re going all cash they are just talking about the $1000 in their robinhood account.

I’m not sure you can, but try to find the difference between these two.

Berkshire historically has been around 15% cash. It’s not that much additional cash, especially given the challenges insurance companies have faced over the last few years.

I’m not sure this is true for cms. I think he actually went 100% cash and thinks he’s winning with his money having sat in a money market account since January 17. I hope he enjoys paying his state and federal taxes on whatever capital gains he realized when he sold out.

Well then he let his emotions drive his financial decisions and will suffer in the long term because of it.

But the people who are the doom and gloomer world ending types try to time the “crashes” end up selling the bottom and buying the top. They repeat this over and over again and then blame “market manipulation”

It’s always someone else’s fault with these kinds of people.

Stupid commentary of the weekend goes to the guys who have been calling for a huge sell-off Monday because of the credit rating news.

1. That’s irrelevant.
2. Even if it were relevant, that’s already in the past and baked in.

Stock market losers trade on the past and present. Winners trade on the future. It’s not about predicting the future. It’s about assigning proper weight to possible outcomes. Most of this thread doesn’t understand that.

The people who went all cash didn’t do it for any economic reasons, they did it because of their hate for one person. It’s hard for me to imagine hating someone enough to throw my future away.

Matters a little more than the Moldy credit rating.

Unfathomable.

But here we are, making our own, educated decisions.
