Last year also had Jung Hoo, Caminero, Winn, Butler, and Kjerstad. This year is Roki and then who? A utility guy for the Dodgers? If the Series 1 Blacks aren't in this, this release is absolutely brutal and probably why Topps still hasn't posted a checklist. |

I'm assuming All-Kings will be like All-Aces with hitters. If so, I'm certainly going to chase a few favorites. The only other card that is definitely going on my want list is the 1990 Sammy Sosa auto. I've pretty much sworn off wax, but now I make want lists of 0-10 for each product and then work on snagging them about a month after release. For this, I've got the 1990 Sosa auto, and Soto, Judge, Trout, Freeman All-Kings. I might try to snag an Ohtani if they aren't too crazy expensive.

Again, Series 2 is known for being the weakest. Last edited by whitmm; 05-13-2025 at 08:06 PM. |

Hoping the All Kings are as nice as S1 All Aces.
I picked up a case of jumbos on the pre-order

What was preventing them from putting the guys on the SP list on the regular checklist?

Those SPs drive sales just as much, if you really want to talk about the RCs in the product. Holliday drove sales more that Shota did last year. The reality is that last year's RC checklist in Series 2 was probably one of the strongest and not the norm Last edited by whitmm; 05-13-2025 at 08:31 PM. |

This checklist is hot garbage for rookies. Anyone saying otherwise is just pretending. I ripped 6 cases of Series 1, have no reason to dump on Flagship, but this is trash. |

You need to realize 2024 was an outlier for Series 2. Go look at 2023 or 2022's checklist. |

Should they have held someone back from Series 1? Is there some player they left out (again, remember their past guidelines)? As I said before Series 2 is the scrap heap most of the time. |

Roki to IL. Even more headwinds for this.

Sasaki Cam Smith Max Muncy (A's) Campbell Roden Drake Baldwin These guys were all on their repective teams Day 1. They should've made it to series 2. Just means Update will be loaded again! |

It’s been much earlier the last few years. More like May 18th-19th. Adley debuted May 21st and missed the ‘22 Update cutoff. It’s a fuzzy line, but once it’s crossed, no player who debuts after it makes it in.
Eury Perez (May 18th, 2023) and Paul Skenes (May 19th, 2024), just barely snuck into their respective year’s Update Series. The cutoffs happened right after their debuts. Last edited by MiamiMarlinsFan; 05-14-2025 at 05:59 AM. |

Just making the team late in camp doesn’t get you into Series 2. See Witt and Julio as past examples. Even though we probably both agree that it should! Luis Robert signed an extension early into the camp and made ‘20 Series 2.

Shaw , Smith and Campbell are in there just as SP's but they are still on the checklist.

Yeah but IMO they should've been regular cards in this set seeing they started with the team on Day 1. Now people have to rip a ton in order to find an SP. We know that's what Fanatics wants, but smart collectors are only buying singles of this set. Otherwise, Series 2 is a HARD PASS.

Yeah I guess the cutoff date for each series is pretty arbitrary. I have been pretty much following the trend of Series 1 RC's are from June to August debuts from the year prior, Series 2 has the September call ups from the year prior plus the guys who debuted on Day 1 with their teams and Update consisting of the April and May call ups of the current year.

Corbin Carroll Anthony Volpe Jordan Walker Josh Jung Yoshida, Outman, Senga, Alvarez. I sold a Vople Fathers Day Blue for around $500 at release. I'd hate to know what it's worth now. |

All the people only interested in the rookie checklist are just flippers who don't even like cards, probably just live in a state that doesn't allow true gambling so this is the best way to get their fix.
Great release for true collectors. All Kings looks sick. |
