The base sales were incredible. You could only go if you had military ids which my mom and I have so we fought no crowds at all. Filled up the car. Spent the most money I have ever at a yard sale. $340 on 2 American Girl Doll Sets, one being new. The other one is OG Pleasant Company with the doll, chest that sells for $375 by itself, and a bed. The new set is the Hogwarts train with the doll and accessories.these people must have had 50 American Girl dolls. My mom bought some ittybitty American Girls Babies for my nieces because they like those . I also bought an Xbox one for $40 as I have lots of stuff already to go with it

Ebay is dead for me....and it's garage sale season! The weekend is usually when I sell the most items and I've sold one item so far this weekend. And nothing on Wednesday or Thursday. Anybody else in a drought or everyone doing pretty well?

I’m right there with you. Exact same situation. Sales fell off a cliff. I’m usually solid on selling on the weekends and I have one sale today. In 5 years, I’ve never gone two consecutive days without a sale. It’s happened twice in the last month. And I’m still listing items regularly

I thought I was going to completely strike out at garage sales today. It took to the second to last sale where they were basically giving everything away or very cheap. They had all video games and dvds for free so I took the remaining games. Now they are mostly bulk lot games but you can't beat free. I think 2 sell for like 15 each. Last garage sale I bought a camera, a garmin (newer version), Hit Clips (yes those from the Y2K era), and a little tikes nail thing. I should do pretty good with those. Not going to any sales next week as Memorial Day weekend they don't have many sales but I might go to the pallet auction again where I scored big last time. I'm going to the Bananas game in KC so I'll probably hit some thrift stores on the way up

Rough day of sales. Went out from 730am to 1pm and only picked up 7 items. Found my third Herculiner Truck Bed Liner this year so far. Had to pay up for this at $20 though but should still sell for $90.

I ended up winning a pallet for $90 which had 7 cutco knives brand new and assortment of other things. Already sold 2 knives for $60 each. Sold a game lot from the free lot for $30 already. Sold the Little tikes nail thing for $90. The best sale of the year ended up being underwhelming. They raised their prices quite a bit, now I did get some good stuff but not as well as I usually do. I spent $175 at one sale. This lady who has a sale every year who goes to Disney and Universal and Disney Cruises all the time and sells new Disney Spirit Jerseys for $25 so I bought several. I also found an iPod classic black 80 gb there and I bought 2 Switch games for myself. Found 3 cameras. I wonder if it is going to be the year of the camera again like last year. I bought like 3 cameras a week last year

Had 2 of the larger city wides this week. Was out 11 hours yesterday, 9 hours today. I am beat lol. A lot of fun. My mom and I probably hit close to 100+ garage sales. I wish they wouldn't put the best 2 city wides on same week. Normally it is not that way. Surprisingly both were not very busy. I probably picked up about 35 things to sell (some I am waiting on like calculators and Christmas items). I usually list calculators in August before school. Not anything earth shattering but found some decent items. My mom and I went on a scavenger hunt. Loser had to buy lunch at the waffle place but we ended up in a tie

Figured I'd bump this back up. Anybody find anything good lately?

Went out today and got a game worn Notre Dame Football jersey from the 2018 season worn by Daelin Hayes for $20.

It's nice living in Notre Dame country, it seems like every year I can find at least one game worn jersey/shoes/helmet of some sport.

I hate selling clothes and I don't do good with clothes at all. However, Thursday, it seemed like every sale had Lululemon. I think only 3 or 4 sales didn't have something Lululemon. I have to pick up that stuff because it's a no brainer. I spent $125 on Lululemon items, all jackets/hoodies. I also found a vintage carhartt jacket I picked up for $12 that I should do really well on as well.

Sold the Notre Dame jersey for $250.

Went to a garage sale and saw some used Toy Story toys....they were a buck a piece so I figured why not.

On my way out, I saw some plush.....I hate plush, but know some sell well. Ended picking up 34 plush in total. 17 Five Night's at Freddy's Plush and 17 Sonic the Hedgehog plush for $30 total.

The FNAF plush sold for $208.50 tonight and the Sonic plush sold for $150 yesterday.

That felt nice.

Stopped at a garage sale at an apartment complex over the weekend, guy had a canopy set up with a bunch of vintage hockey jerseys from the 80's and early 90's. I asked how much he said $10 each and the more you buy the better of a deal. I looked at all of them and pulled 10 out of the lot and he said $50 for them all. I was able to get a couple vintage Mario Lemieux's, Yzermans, Chelios, Curtis Joseph, Gilmour. I figure I should be able to get between $75 and $125 each for them.

Well......I found my biggest flip in the ten years I've been doing this. Saw a yard sale sign today, on a Wednesday, which I figured someone just didn't take down their sign but I had time to kill so I figured why not.

Guy wanted $350 for his LED sign and plugged it in to show me the lights work on it.

I said, it's neat, just not sure what I'd do with it and offered him $100. He countered at $200, me at $150 and we met in the middle at $175.

I'll have to clean it up as it's a bit dusty, but looks to be in great shape otherwise.

Here is what it was (not my listing)

https://www.ebay.com/itm/22606544068...Bk9SR6a-ysH5ZQ

No idea how I'll ship this. Probably have the buyer arrange freight and/or do local pick up.

Not a thrift store exactly but I have been buying stuff from govdeals and the stuff you can get on here is insane. I don't understand how more people haven't figured this out.

Sometimes the stuff doesn't work (I got a mini bike for $44 and I needed to rebuild the cylinder head) but most of the stuff that's from sheriff auctions and stuff are labeled as non working when they didn't even bother to turn them on.

My best deal to date has been a pallet of chart recorders from the county water/sewer department. I got 9 chart recorders for $5. Yes $5.

So far I have sold 4 of them for a total of $800 on ebay.

That’s beautiful. And while not $10k beautiful, I’m sure easily four figures. Have you listed yours yet?

I have not. I have been told it should sell between 5-6k. Just got back from a week's long vacation with the family and my goal this week is to clean it up and get some good pictures and find the right buyer.

I would maybe reach out to some of the retro game store owners on youtube to see if they are interested. Retro Rick, Phoenix Resell (he's about to open a store)

Well it seems as if garage sales are starting to slow way down in my area. There are two big ones left in the year which I plan on intending and outside of that, it seems I can only find three or four to go to on the weekends now.

I guess it doesn't help that kids are back at school and families don't have the time to run a garage sale.

Garage sale season is still going strong for me. It usually slows down in late-September - early October around here. It's been a fantastic season for sales and I've done very well. For the first time since I've been doing this, I actually have a death pile, meaning way more stuff sitting around that needs to be listed. Previously, I've usually kept up on a week to week basis.

For the third year in a row, i went to the 50-mile garage sale in the Bitterroot Valley in Montana. Like usual, it was awesome. Came home with a ton of stuff and spent less than $300 for the weekend. I haven't even touched a single thing from the 50-mail sale. I figure it will be good to hold me through the slow winter period. I also have 40+ Coleman lantern to list this winter. A picker acquaintance here locally sold me all of them at a pretty fair price.

I've probably spent more this summer than ever before but I think I've concentrated on much higher quality items. I spent $430 at one sale and got a bunch of nice fly rods and high dollar camo hunting clothes (Kuiu, First Lite, Sitka). I've already done very well on that one.

I spent $540 at another sale this summer. This one was a lot of fly fishing and fly tying materials as well as a tone of brand new camping and backpacking gear (mostly MSR). Again, I've done very well on that sale.

Had my biggest day to date on Monday as far as number of items sold. I usually average around 3-5 sales per day but sold 14 items on Monday.

I appreciate all the knowledge in this thread and hate to see it on the second page. I'm always learning new stuff to see and that's mostly from all of you.
