Edit: Ah ok, probably meant Tatum currently resides in Mass., that makes sense. Flagg not from there though. Last edited by LittleJimmies; 04-08-2025 at 03:46 PM. |

Van Horn is one of those players who I would like to see in the league in it's current form. I suspect he would fair better than he did in the late 90s / early 00s.

KVH averaged 16/7/2 for his career…
Dude would be killing it in the 2020’s game

Cooper comes from a fam of Celt superfans. I believe Tatum is one of his favorite players. Doesn't hurt that they're both Duke alums. I mean they pretty much emulate each other in every aspect, all the way down to build. Cooper's got massive shoulders. The interesting aspect is that his body is already NBA ready at 17. Whether he has additional upside in that department or will this pretty much be who he'll always be (which is still damn good) is the interesting aspect. Knee High's still my guy, but Keith Van Horn couldn't run an offense if his life depended on it, nor was he a defensive lockdown. Cooper's much closer to Grant Hill as a prospect, though the melanated differences may make that correlation harder to identify for most.

I definitely agree that Van Horn would kill it in today's game. I think Cooper's offense is very similar to Van Horn yet his defense is much better.
The NBA is filled with guys with similar talent. The difference between the great players and regular players can be as simple as the drive to be great. The thing I like most about Cooper Flagg is that he has the intangible drive to be better than everyone else. He wants to dominate other players. That, combined with his talent, tells me that he will continue to be a top tier player in the NBA.

I just hope getting drafted by a bad team and losing a bunch as a pro(I'm assuming both) doesn't kill his spirit.

That would be my concern. I do believe in him, but he won't be that good to overcome atrocious management.

Utah, Washington, Charlotte, New Orleans and Philly have the top 5 odds at the first pick.
Which team would be the best landing spot for him? Charlotte, with the close proximity to Duke seems like the best geographical fit. Zion and Flagg would be cool.... Would Philly trade Embiid if they got the #1? Utah and Washington just seem like career (and collector) purgatory at this point...
