He's been really passive offensively the last few games....passing up a lot of open shots.....

They just learned what it's like to play a team that is good defensively , unlike the Lakers.

Second game in a row (both on the road) where the Warriors have held their opponents under 90 points. I wonder when was the last time that happened?

I was hoping the Wolves would have played better. Their effort was too little too late.

Road team has won the first five games of the second round.....I wonder if that's some kind of record.

Yes, it was the first time ever that all 4 road teams won game one.

It would be pretty amazing to see all the lower seeds win this round. Really doubt that will happen, but I expected the Cavs to come out and blow the doors off game 2. I do expect the other high seeds to win game 2. Doubly so if Curry is out.

I usually don’t bother commenting on games I don’t actually watch, but there were some crazy stat lines. Mitchell almost drops 50 points on 50 percent from the field with 9 assists, goes 17-21 from the stripe and the Cavs somehow manage to blow it? With Mobley, Garland, and Hunter out, the Bubble version of Mitchell was their only chance. Seems like he delivered, but the Pacers were just too much. Hats off to them and Halliburton who came up clutch yet again.

Side note: looks like Ty Jerome isn’t the answer.

Mitchell played 47 great minutes, followed by the worst minute of basketball he's ever played.

:48- He forgets to box out Nesmith on the missed free throws and allows the putback dunk

:46- He elbows Nesmith in the face while dribbling up the court and turns the ball over while just taking 2 second off the clock

:10- He forgets to box out Haliburton on the missed free throw, allows the rebound, and eventually Haliburton missed the game winning 3.

Throw in a Strus (who played a heck of a game before that too) thrown away inbound pass in which nobody could get open, and it was a disaster class.

Unfortunately for this series, his shot as been off (2-18 from 3) and his only way to score is to charge at the basket like a madman, which has been effective for scoring, but not winning. His teams are now 1-6 in his career when he takes 30 shots in playoff games (although he may have had to last night)

I definitely think that last night, he had no choice but to get a lot of shots up, and like you said, he played a great game up to that point. I still have to think they will right the ship, but they are really making it difficult on themselves for the rest of the series. I'd still pick them to win the series, but only at about 55%. If they would have held on last night, I'd be more around 90%.

It's all about health from here on out.

This sounds funny, but if Garland plays for 1 minute last night, like a damn closer in baseball, they win.

But I'm probably more upset about Game 1 than Game 2, believe it or not. Game 2 the team gave it all they could and ran out of gas. Game 1 was inexcusable because they had the guys, but didn't use them right. Mitchell took 30 shots, Jerome took 20 shots, but Mobley and Allen only combined for 20 shots (and made 15 of them). You can't have that backcourt outshoot your 2 bigs 50-20. They let that one slide, then the injuries caught up to them in Game 2.

Totally agree. They should have won G1, and if they would have snuck a win last night, it would have just been a bonus. Both are just tough though if you're a Cavs fan. Both were winnable games that you've won all year.

Nope

If we lose game 3 then it’s Cavs in 7

That’s how it works

Had to make sure it was somehow his fault. I am relieved to know this was the case again. Darn that Mitchell guy.

Donovan Mitchell didn't fail to box out Nesmith. He was afraid to.

And all credit to Mitchell, he was absolutely exhausted by the end.

Haha hey respect to your guy Nomad, he’s had a great postseason. He’s came up big on multiple occasions.

I didn’t watch this one because my wife would have killed me if I spent the whole night watching sports again. I kinda like her so wife>watching people play a game on TV.

I was just wondering how the narratives would be spun, and it’s nothing new. I’m a Mitchell fan, but actually enjoy watching the Pacers as well. Hoping the Cavs can get a couple guys back and make it a series though.

Khal: What’s the timetable for a grade 1 hamstring strain (late 30s male athlete with lots of mileage too)?

Makes you wonder why it was Haliburton with the big clutch play and not Nesmith

Because nesmith would've made a 6 point play
