I’m loving it so far. But I would like to see some OLine next.

This definitely has the influence of Lynch and Saleh. I know depth was an issue on the DL but there were a lot of run-stopping hogs on the board. The overall grade between the top OT that was available and the next was decently wide. I was leaning towards OT for sure. Maybe they are giving Shanahan all the rest of the picks? Haha

You can like the players while still admitting we reached on all 3 yesterday. Each guy was projected to be available a round or two later.
We could’ve gotten Ersery at 43, Collins at 75, and Martin and Stout on day 3.

Need an OL here with the last pick in Round 5. The LSU or Texas dawgs are fine.

Oh gawd. Well, I hope our defense is like the 2000 Ravens because what the heck.

I’ve generally been a big Shanahan / Lynch defender but this draft feels like they were more concerned with proving a point than actually making the team better.
They drafted not one but two nickel cb / special teamers before drafting any OL.

Well now that we know Mustapha will likely miss the start of the year the Sigle pick makes a little more sense. Athletic still projects journeyman Jason Pinnock to start over Sigle though.
Draft rankings have not been kind to the Niners draft. I've seen two D grades, a 22nd ranked, and a 26th ranked. Athletic's Dane Brugler said the exact same thing I did about Day 2, that each of the 3 picks would've been available later.

They drafted one OL, that was the biggest problem

They don't know though. The divide between evaluations, media guys placing mock "value" to guys in certain rounds and where guys should have been drafted is pretty wide?

Outside of the top 5 picks, is anyone going to claim - WITH CONFIDENCE - that any player is a guaranteed superstar in this draft?

What I see is a number of young defenders with solid histories being drafted with team that understands HOW to use these athletes in the Saleh scheme.

Going back to Mike Shanahan, this scheme never needed superstar O line personnel to get production on the ground. So if the line can be OK, they'll be fine. This draft was weak and I'm not sure there was a lot of distinction between guys going round 2 versus guys going round 5. So I imagine in a draft like this, best to get the guys that can play your scheme as they become available.

They drafted a 4th QB because they like having 4 QBs in the offseason. Only problem is this QB had knee surgery in Jan so his participation is doubtful for the offseason.

Part 1 supports my point that they should've traded back from 11. They were just outside range for the Elite prospects.

For part 2 I believe the consensus was that while this was a down year for QBs or elite players in general, it was actually strong in rounds 2-3.

I don't know... The Niners need players, like warm bodies who can play to pair with their stars. So you count on Bosa, Warner, Deommodore to lead their position groups but cheap young talent needs to be on the field in September. Williams was drafted expressly for his fit in the Saleh scheme and CJ West is a good comp for DJ Jones who was great at playing the run. I'm not sure trading back (or trading up) was really something they were in position to do since they needed starter and depth guys. And the missions is clear: STOP THE RUN. This year and next year - between those two drafts, you need those picks to sustain the team and maybe hit a few gems. But if you reach for guys that actually fit scheme rather than maybe missing out and playing the "best available" game? Dangerous when you know that you gotta pay Purdy and George and that Trent doesn't come off the books until likely next year. You gotta have somebody in the right spot.

I didn't see a huge gap in talent for rounds 2-5. Maybe time will prove me wrong.

Don't disagree with this part, which is why it would've made so much more sense to trade back from 11 and get two players rated 89 instead of one rated 91. Two warm bodies, two chances someone turns in to a gem, etc
