Does anyone know of any Miss Shields blue autos being pulled? Curious of the inscriptions and have yet to see one.

I haven't seen one. I've counted 12 (of the 100) blue inscriptions that turned up on eBay so far and she wasn't one of them.

A company has already secured the Jurassic Park license. My guess is that we will get the official announcement sometime in 2025.

D&A now down to $139.95/box and $1669.95/case. Tempting but with prices the way they're going now you would have to pull an inscription just to get your money back. That will probably change come Xmas time though.

TM1 blue ink just turned up on the bay. #3/5 and the inscription reads "Oh, Ralphie!".

Always nice & interesting to see a different inscription saying. I can’t wait for November.

Have this sketch getting graded now that I pulled awhile back. Ted Dastick Jr. really like that he chose to do this one!

I posted this in the Pop Century thread but it’s so odd I figured I’d post it here as well. Just pulled this 1/1 Peter Billingsley auto and it looks like some sort of tape he signed on.

Ha! We weren't allowed to draw Santa, this was the best I could do.

Please share a pic of it graded, hopefully I didn't beat it up too much while drawing it.

I think you did a great job trying to capture that scene. Especially now knowing you couldn’t draw Santa. I really liked the sketch as soon as I pulled it, and it’s the only one of yours I have pulled. I was wondering why I haven’t seen any of Santa as of yet…that explains it.

It looked in pretty good shape and I will definitely post it once graded!

Interesting--can you share the guidelines you were given? Also, were artists given sample screenshots to use? While not across the board, I have seen many of the same character pose or facial expression or something that seems too many to be random, even for a movie.

As for the Santa one, does that mean they did not get that actor's agreement for rights usage?

Rights and what artists can and can't do are endlessly fascinating to me. And this is a 40-plus year old film, so not as volatile (presumably) as the constant shifts in rights for things like Marvel.

That is strange. I looked on ebay. And they all seem to be hand cut and none are actually signed. Just his initials and an abbreviated "Christmas Story"

And that second one? One side has rounded corners, and the right is not even cut straight. I guess they ran out of the clear stickers, but these are just bad. Looks like masking tape!

I can't spill all the beans, but it's like any sets where certain actors don't sign off on their likeness, which is probably what happened here. From what I recall he was the only major character that was off limits.

They didn't provide specific images to draw, but some artists dig a little deeper for reference. I know I do, as I don't want to be producing all the same exact images 20 other artists are also doing. Sometimes gathering reference for a set can take hours, and maybe it's easier (definitely quicker) for some to use the first image Google serves up. But in the case of Black Bart, he's barely on screen, so you're not going to get much variety in sketches of him.

Leaf has turned into utter trash since Brian Grey left. I mean, it wasn’t great with him at the helm, but now it’s only getting worse and worse with each release.

I agree they look horrible… but they do say “A Christmas Storry” with a big A.

I disagree about Leaf. I think pop century is the best it's been in many years this release, and I really liked the Elvis and Marilyn Monroe releases a few months ago.
