No, this thread has nothing to do with the over rated band Phish. Nor is it about scamming people online. This is the good, old rod and reel fishing. I can't remember ever seeing a thread on the topic.....so here we are. I use to fish with my Dad when I was younger but it's been close to 45-50 years since I last went fishing. I decided to take up the hobby a couple months ago and bought a bunch of crap to get started. Mind you, I live in Central NY and the weather is just getting warm enough to where everything is melted. The water is still very cold as well so there really isn't much biting at this time. The CNY lakes, rivers, and creeks start getting stocked with trout later this month and continues on into April. So my question is, are there any other fishers out there? Do you stick to a certain type of fishing, or fish? Have you already got a start on the year? And are you a catch a release fisher or do you catch to keep/eat? As I said. I haven't seen a thread on this topic so forgive me if I've overlooked one.

I went out today. Hit 4 different spots and didn't get a nibble. It's a beautiful day out though so it wasn't a complete loss.

Caught a nice 13 in Brown Trout today. Catches have been few and far between. I'm just looking forward to warmer weather and Bass season.
