Been a bit since I updated, but much needed. Snoozed and lost on the Mosaic Nebula but this Dragon Black peeked my interest being already slabbed and this particular pic out of the 5 subsets. These Contenders Optic autos from the rewards site are cool too.

...I'd imagine you lost mega money on DeAndre Hopkins cards after Watson went away. WRs are really tough for cards.

Jefferson has done as well as anyone besides Chase so far in his career. Hopefully JJ McCarthy is good. It's really hard for WRs unless they're both good AND likeable... not sure Jefferson has done that second part.

As a Vikes fan, I think it's awesome. I'm not a big Jet fan, but I want the team to win.

You are the only Vikings fan I have ever seen or heard mention that JJ may not be likeable. Nothing wrong with being a contrarian since you're entitled to your opinions, just noting that I've never heard anyone else say that, and most of my friends are overly critical of a lot of the Vikes' players.

JJ's just not a very likeable dude, that's all. It's jmo. Some like him, some don't.
He's very cocky and flashes wealth/clothes/jewels pre and post game, interviews, etc... talks a big game and talks of himself in 3rd person (often).
He doesn't do it in a tasteful (Burrow, Cam Newton, etc) or playful (Portis, Kelce, etc) way. He just tries to flex hard and obvious with tons of diamonds.

Yet with all that, he's not very articulate or sure of himself. He comes across as a fake toughguy (I wouldn't go so far as to say momma's boy, but it's close).
Remember this one a couple months ago? Who can't memorize - or just ad lib - just 3 or 4 lines for an important tribute?
The 'Receiver' Netflix show featuring JJ was also hard to watch on his clips. "Justin this, Justin that" for episode after episode. He was easily the least likeable of the group (Kittle, Davante, Amon-Ra, JJeff)... and I was biased to like him the most going into the series.

Jefferson is very good on the field, but he sure won't be an announcer or popular speaker/guest like Peyton/Moss/Gronk/etc afterwards. And part of it is that he's set up to fail as not even 1% are as well liked or funny as Randy Moss... but JJ still doesn't do his part to help himself imo. Some ppl like his personality/character, though.

Not necessarily struggle. There’s principles to player collecting in today’s market. I know I’ve seen and had to pass on several of his biggest 1/1’s. But at least I’ve seen them go by. Since 2020, not easy to spot the best rookie year 1/1’s of the best young players. But most of Jets best had seen ebay once. NFL Shield Sigs, Contenders Super Bowl Ticket, Prizm Black etc.

Probably did pass on some I probably should’ve bid/offer on. But no way to own them all with my means. Grateful I got what I did when I could. Time moves in 1 direction and so regrets are not part of my beliefs. Woulda/coulda/shoulda is a big pet peeve of mine. Too arbritary to discuss and waste my limited energy on.

As for favorite, maybe the Immac 1/1 RPA. First 1/1 and was my birthday present officially.

Another way to clarify my philosophy, what if the timeline I own more of his cards, his career accolades were worse? That’s why I do not dwell. Just enjoy the now and next season as a fan.
