Oh dang, thanks for the heads up! I had bought a box a couple years ago of the ones they did for overseas. These look even better! We picked up a Mega box of their Squishmallow cards the other day, they're very well done and a lot of fun. I love sets like these!

I was trying to get a hobby from Panini this morning and they literally sold out within 1-2 mins of going live. As soon as it went live i clicked add to cart and got errors.
Eventually, it just said no longer available.

All i could do was LOL who knew there were this many minecraft fans. (resellers)

Prior to listing on Panini for $79.99 some presells (DA) were at 109.99.
Guess what happened after it sold out. Prices went up. Typical hobby move.

Retail doesn't seem bad for price. 1 #d per box or so.
Megas seem like the best dollar per card ratio.

Veefriends and Fanatics previously had a partnership under the Zerocool trading card brand. That brand folded into Topps shortly after Fanatics acquired Topps.

At least regular children organically like Minecraft.

They also had 2015 and 2019 Minecraft cards. Does anyone care about those ones?

I believe those did not have #d cards like this new 2024 set.
So typical collectors probably won't care about those.

If these make it to stores like Wal-Mart, kids may actually buy these.

I think they missed the boat by not including code cards in each box for random in-game accessories though.

Have you seen the videos of people going nuts in the theater over the movie? It's no surprise this sold out fast. Given the timing, this is probably going to be a huge release.

What is the actual difference between the hobby preferred boxes and the mega boxes. I know you get two #d cards in a hobby preferred box and more cards, are the odds of hits better also?

It isn't really that clear what the main differences are for the price point.

The hobby preferred and retail SKUs have a lot of overlap. (I think there's only 1 version of hobby so i'll just call it Hobby)

The only hobby exclusive is the Pandora /15 and that is not guaranteed in a box.
From what I have seen the hobby comes with about 4-5 parallels and a few base chromes. The box says 2 parallels per box *on average*

Haven't seen too many blaster openings but they could also be 1 #d per box.

The megas say 1 # per box but i've seen some with 2 #d in a box.

Blaster and Megas get the retail Cubic parallels and Hobby does not. Hobby has the non-numbered stone/cobblestone parallel that can be found in retail.

Case hits, 1/1s, /10s, etc are available in all SKUs.

With current price points, the Megas at 24.99 seem like the best price per card.
It's essentially double of a what a 14.99 blaster contains.
Hobby at $79.99 was great but at $120+ idk.

Haven't seen a case opened so could be off on some of this stuff.
I will say judging by how few base chromes you get in boxes putting that set together will be a HUGE undertaking. Goodluck to those.

Thanks crdbored, great breakdown!

I ordered 6 of the mega boxes, should be a fun rip for the price, although I'm tempted to grab another 4.

It looks like there are variations w/ mega boxes.

Megas at UP look different and come w/ exclusive refractors than the megas at Target.

I think UP put up the wrong image for the box. Those boxes in the images are from an older set called "time to mine" from 2022.

They do have the blaster up so maybe it's just a mistake or could be the older set.

Well, those are all sold out now.

Hopefully I didn't cause someone to go broke over old stuff
