Bellingham really lucky not to get sent off for England tonight.

His attitude has stunk since he joined Madrid.

For anyone who cares, a lower-tier team made it to the DFB-Pokal final for the second straight season.

Arminia Bielefeld aren't really a small club, they were in the top division just four seasons ago... their implosion was even more impressive that tonight - three straight relegations to division four!

Great story

Great team with a great stadium. Lets hope Stuttgart will do the job tonight! I would love to see these fanbases in Berlin final!

Oh dear, looks like one of the most corrupt clubs in the world has finally run out of 'levers' to manipulate.

Barcelona do not have the financial capacity to register forwards Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, La Liga has said.

Great story
Indeed a great story.

Just to note the record - Only two consecutive relegations, 2021-22 from the top flight, and 2022-23 from the 2. BL (via the playoff spot). Survived 2023-24 in 14th place in the 3. BL.

Very true about them not being a small club though. The current number of historically big clubs not in the top flight is amazing.

As a Bayern fan, I am saddened to hear that Thomas Muller will leave the club after this season. What's impressive is he's only 35 and has spent 25 years with them.

Neither Chelsea or Man City deserve 4th/5th place.

Villa and Fulham would be the dream ticket, along with Forest.

I love watching Bayern's YouTube channel with my kids. The content overall is awesome, but one thing we can't get enough of is Muller. He is just such an awesome teammate and so affable. His value to Bayern on the field is completely gone, but man will that clubhouse miss him.

I havent been watching City as closely as Chelsea, but I'd agree about Chelsea - their play has been atrocious. It's shocking they are still holding the position they are considering how they've played since the new year. I guess that speaks to the quality of everyone below Liverpool basically.

Not often I agree with Neymar, but he's spot on.

"Football is getting more and more boring," Santos captain Neymar wrote on Instagram

Newcastle now up 5-0 on Crystal Palace and up into 3rd place....have now scored eight consecutive goals in just over 90 minutes of football.

Random stat :

If the EPL table was reworked with the relegated teams removed, including all the points against them, then Manchester United would be bottom of the table and facing relegation to the Championship.

46% of their points have come against the current bottom three.

Yet they could still yet make the Champions League next year by way of winning the UEFA Cup. (Europa League to the younger people)

Football is beyond broken.

Well, IMHO that's more a function of the economic might of the EPL, which has not only allowed smaller clubs to acquire the talent needed to outperform poorly-run larger clubs, but also makes those poorly run larger clubs still better than most of the clubs in Europe. Man United & Tottenham did finish 3rd/4th in the Europa League group stage, and will have knocked out the current 3rd best team in the Bundesliga and the 4th best team in La Liga on their way to the final.

The real evidence is seen in the Deloitte Money League (which ranks clubs by annual revenue)....Newcastle....a club which has only qualified for Europe once in the past twenty years, is just behind AC Milan and Interazionale, and AHEAD of Juventus! Half of the top eighteen clubs are from the EPL, with West Ham and Aston Villa in 17th & 18th. That's why you get transfers like Sandro Tonali moving from AC Milan to Newcastle two years ago, which was/is shocking from a historical perspective!

The top eighteen have 9 teams from England, 3 from Spain, 3 from Italy, 2 from Germany, and PSG from France.

Man United are 4th and Tottenham 9th. That's why they're headed for the Europa League Final, even though they're having horrible domestic seasons in the EPL.

Heck....West Ham are 17th in the EPL.....AND also 17th in the Deliotte Money League!

Congrats to Inter.

Barcelona can have all the talent in the world up front, but when you have a defence that's about as useful as wet paper...

Sad to notice that Pedri is turning almost as snotty as Jude Bellingham.

It was a great night and a game that will be forever remembered. At Linate Airport on way back to London, having been here since Saturday (for the Serie A match vs Verona).

A very expensive few days as it coincided with the Asian Development Bank’s annual conference being held in Milan this week so hotel prices, generally quite high in Milan anyway, were stratospheric.

Add in that was a 7th trip to Milan since start of Jan 2025, that there’s the Champions League Final to budget for and Inter will be looking their season ticket money in the next month and it’s fair to say, it’s an expensive hobby. Won’t be making any memorabilia purchases in coming months.

Selfishly hoping that PSG defeat Arsenal in the other semi. I have nothing against Arsenal (I do against PSG) but arranging travel to Munich will be easier if tens of thousands of Arsenal fans are not also making the trip.

In Serie A, we have 3 games left to play and are 3 points behind Napoli. Hard to see Napoli slipping up now; their remaining games are very winnable whereas we have Torino away and, more so, home to Lazio who need the points for Champions League qualification.

Somehow if Napoli do lose 1 of their remaining games and we will all of ours, we will have equal points. Our goal difference is considerably better than Napoli’s. However, under current Serie A rules, there would be a one game takes all match due to finishing on the same points total. That would be at Inter due to our superior goal difference.

Not a city fan by any means but they should feel hard done by as Henderson wasn’t sent off today. Would’ve been a game changer. He ended up making a good save on the pen but I’m not sure why Haaland didn’t take it either. Palace were able to sit very deep and soak up the pressure the rest of the game, and city couldn’t do much about it. Made for pretty awful football but still pretty cool to see palace finally get a major trophy. Glasner has done exceptionally well.
