The monthly specials for 2025, so far, aren’t exactly making me want to pay to renew my membership in a couple of months. Are they trying to push everyone to use GameStop and/or group submitters at this point?

It's pretty clear that they're trying to lower the sub rate. I wouldn't even expect a all-encompassing sub special in April either. They're still a month from Arrival to R&ID and another month from R&ID to Assembly. At one point they were getting orders out within 6 weeks. I'm sure they want to get back to that.

I hope they have the capacity to handle the deluge of NCAA basketball photos they're about to get.

They opened a new facility which was supposed to help streamline the process but only seems to have slowed it down. They haven't had any super specials where people sent in 10's of thousands of cards. And I can't see them underestimating the amount of cards they would be getting.
Something feels off be it some type of restructuring, sale/buyout, or maybe they are trying out new technology that is slowing the process down. Whatever it is I'm willing to bet it something more than they are receiving droves of submissions they hadn't planned for to the amount it would take for the current length of delays. |

The next 6-8 months will be interesting to see if money continues to pour into buying graded Pokemon. If that starts to slow down, TCG grading will slow down...which right now is 45-50% of PSA's monthly volume. Just can't see Pokemon continue to prop up PSA's business long term...could go the way of beanie babies. They will milk that market until it runs dry...and then turn their focus back to their sports customers.

Anyone know if you can combine sports and tcg into one $20 bulk order? I have only ever done sports but got two star wars cards I kind of want graded.

Yes. You can do this. Star Wars doesn't fall under TCG.

Anyone know how the volume is looking for this month? Can we expect a Modern Bulk special for April?

We don't need a special, we need bulk to return to 4-5 weeks door to door.

I would not expect any specials on any bulk tier levels for quite some time

People are going to get antsy about wait times once they miss the boat on a really hot rookie who gets hurt or just falls apart while they are waiting to get his cards back. Sooner or later another company is going to have to step up and IMO as bad as they are I think it's BGS. They have the name recognition in the hobby and if bought by a big time player could slowly gain traction again. SGC can't get out of their own way for whatever reason and can't get consistent subs without doing $10-$12 specials and outside of vintage people just don't seem to care about them. CGC seems to be more focused on Pokemon than growing their struggling sports side. |

FWIW - I grade a lot. I subbed maybe 4000 - 5000 cards last year to PSA. Only PSA. for 2025 at the new rates, some of the lesser cards that used to go to PSA are going to go to SGC unless there is a modern bulk special. I am using a lot of my cards in repacks that I make for breakers and need a bunch of $20-50 cards. They don't really care if that same Marvin Harrison card that would be $40 in a PSA slab is only worth $30 in an SGC slab. It's just a filler card in these breaks for when the buyer doesn't hit the big chase card anyway, so I am going to start saving $8/card on the sub for those types of cards. I'm working on a pile of that stuff now and will wait until we see if there is an April special. If not, it's off to SGC and I save myself some money.

If there are no useable specials in April and/or May then it’s going to make my decision very easy when it’s time to renew my subscription in June.
There is a local shop 25 miles away having a PSA drop-off event on Saturday so it’s a shame that I can’t justify taking cards over to save on shipping. The last time they did one I had 4 bulk specials ready to go. |

Pikachu aint getting a blood clot, its not sports that are holding things up. PSA numbers this month will look like 1 million TCG graded and 400k sports.

I resumed buying in early march now that I'm seeing my subs turning around door to door in 60ish days. Not the 30ish days we've enjoyed the past few quarters but 60 is stomachable, but still absolutely not ideal given how fast this trash drops. > 60 and it's a complete deal breaker, I refuse to participate.

I don't think so. People like me who grade a lot of lower end stuff are simply going to keeping sitting on cards waiting for a special or for the card valuation to increase justifying the added cost. And, if the specials or lower price points don't come, then subscriptions will stop getting renewed. They really aren't all that backed up. My most recent special took a bit over 6 weeks from arrival to ship. The one before was around 9 weeks. I do have one still R/ID on it's 5th week since arrival but it probably still will beat the 9-weeker. Maybe PSA would prefer better, but I still recall how bad it was in the coronas era. This seems like nothing in comparison.

PSA and Ebay finally have gotten together and you can now send any card that goes through AG straight to be graded. Basically you buy the card Raw and get it back in hand already graded and ready to flip.
No word on pricing as of yet or what happens if it passes AG and then grades lower than the seller described it as. So say it's marked at Nr Mt / MT and it grades a PSA 5 or 6 but passed the AG program. |

As expected, no bulk specials for April after grading almost 1.5 million cards in March. TCG represented over 50% of the cards graded.

wouldn't surprise me if they did away with bulk submissions for a while other than a selected number of group submitters like Gamestop and COMC. Why wouldn't they when they can make more per card with the new Ebay deal? Do away with the yearly memberships which have taken a big hit since they increased the price anyhow.

PSA should know that it's going to grading. So it should go direct to grading, essentially with a min grade based on the ebay description. Isn't the highest grade in the ebay dropdown "near mint or better"? So now you can buy that pack-fresh minty card via ebay AG and get a PSA-7 slab in hand. Yay! ![]() (If it was "near mint or better" and gets a 6 or lower, it fails AG and goes back to the seller...I assume). If it's truly a two-step process where it can pass AG as near mint or better and then get a 6 or lower in grading, and you're now stuck with the card AND you paid for grading. Yikes. It would be really stupid to do that when PSA owns the entire post-Ebay process.

It is hard to justify my membership. Barely sending anything in compared to last year. Was hoping for a dual grading special. Maybe next month?

I let my membership lapse last month, I was riding a $99 a year membership I was able to renew at the last second the year before. Until they get their bulk turnaround times back down to something manageable with a base price of $15 and cheaper for specials, I don’t see any point in having a membership.

This is just one small example of why grading base rookies is dumb 99.95% of the time.
People are still flooding PSA with new release base rookies. Save your time and $ people. The year isn't 2020
