A 1989 Gold Fish/Koi Fish Skenes auto /25 sold for $466 on auction one hour ago.

For anyone who's opened anything, have you seen any of the five following Giants players in the non-insert portion of the cards? Matt Chapman, Brandon Crawford (he could also be in as a Cardinal), Austin Slater, Thairo Estrada or Wilmer Flores.

Honestly the only one I'd expect to see is Chapman, but if he's in there, whether they used his chrome or his flagship image is the other mystery.

I seem to notice that the parallels are pretty rough cut.

Opened mine right up last night.
6 boxes. 3 Autos, 1 relic.
Best hit was 1/1 Garret Cole Strike Zone Heroes
Had a red /5 but sadly not a name to shout about.
Best parallel card was Blue RCs of Imanage and Yamamoto.
Best of the Blossoms....Acuna.

Very happy they at least moved the hits to the middle of the pack instead of the back.

Will finish my opening tonight. Finding the 1989 Koi Fish are not well collated (3 Skenes in 8 boxes so far), had some good ones so far Gold Koi Judge /25, Gold Koi Relic Trout /25, and a Gold Shotime /25.

Opened just one. Manzardo auto /300.

Betts green /75

Ripped 5 I bought off the secondary at prices that aren't sustainable. Reason being I love the condensed checklist, parallels & inserts from the Topps Japan Edition.

Here's the damage:

There's your Scott auto and a few other cards that will stay in my PC. - Acuna Gold is /25, Murakami must've signed Henry Owens level of cards in 2024 but I'll keep this one, Gunnar Jade Green is to /75.



And then, check this sh$$ out. I get this type of luck when my boxes don't come from Topps/Fanatics direct.

Merrill Cherry Blossom /99, Elly Gold /25, Chourio Purple /50 and Martian blue (?) to /150.



Second best Cherry Blossom was Bryce Harper. Also got a relic of Imanaga to /150.

Just curious why you think prices aren't sustainable if the product is so good? I haven't opened any, but it looks pretty good to me.

I got incredibly lucky with my 5 boxes. A total of 6 cherry blossoms, 2 gold /25, 3 purple /50, 4 jade green /75 and 8-9 light blues so 24 total parallels.

Really fortunate to snag even one parallel of the big RC so landing 4 was not anticipated.

In today's market, I guess these can linger around at $210/box but like 2023, my ripping will be limited to these few boxes instead of the cases I ripped in 2021-2022. Looks like the autos are falling more reliably in 2024 so maybe I'm off here.

Yea, those were the good 'ol days. But those are long gone. I was just curious. Congratulations on the big hits. Its nice to be able to rip some new boxes and get some decent cards. Regular flagship was spread so thin they were much more elusive. Maybe they will make a Topps Italian Edition and start off with cheap loaded boxes.

Incredible break. That's some good stuff- the best rookie I pulled was a Chourio /150. My buddy opened his and best he did was a Masyn Winn /50.

That Merrill should get you atleast $300-400?
