Default Star Trek Strange New Worlds by RH

Maybe it’s just me but I was thinking this series needs its own thread. I’m looking forward to Series 2 coming out April 9th after putting together a good chunk of Series 1.
Not only am I a big fan of the show but also the “on card” autos by Rittenhouse. It takes a lot more work but it’s miles above mass produced sticker autos.
Best to All,
Vinny

You've got an extra week to wait...

Release date was bumped to April 16 in the last few days.

Not a big deal, but it should be noted...

That actually helps me this time. Gotta go out of town that week of the 9th. I had been planning on ripping and posting my extras right away. Prices tend to go down soon after the first week of people breaking.
Thanks,
Vinny

Not RH but caught my eye and bought one. Not sure but I doubt these LPs are mass produced. Might be nice for a signing someday.

I've got a pretty substantial collection of Rittenhouse stuff, and actually looked at possibly buying a box of this or Cheers, as I haven't ripped anything in a long time. Ended up getting a box of Rittenhouse Farscape InMotion cards (as that's the only Farscape set I don't have the base set for and I never ripped a box of it), which should be here Monday. I've also opened a Season 2 box of Game Of Thrones, at least one of Star Gate Universe, at least one box of each season of the newer Battlestar Galactica.

I think you'll enjoy ripping this if you get one. Just be prepared for low value autos if you only got one box. I lucked out with a the GoT box (Rose Leslie full bleed auto), but most of the other good autos I have I ended up buying second hand or trading for. Still, far better feel opening these than anything put out by Topps or Upper Deck when it comes to pop culture releases like this!

This is a key set for me so I have a case coming. (longtime Star Trek fan) I try to sell off my extras right away. I’m really big on on-card autos and RH does it right. It’s always a gamble but even the commons tell a story.

What is in an incentive box for this set? I couldn’t find any information on the Rittenhouse website.

I am interested in most of the autographs from this set- will the incentive box only have the exclusive autographs and no other autograph cards, or will it be like other archive boxes where there was one of each signer and the exclusives took the place of the regular autographs for that signer?

The checklist shows the cards you’ll get in the 12 case incentive box. You get 1 version of each of the 6 inscription autos along with the rest. RH is not doing the classic, 1 of each auto, archive boxes nowadays.

So if I want a Paul Wesley autograph, I would get one of them (bordered or full bleed, but not both) in the incentive box, even though he isn’t one of the exclusive signers?

If I wanted the Carol Kane the incentive box would only have the Aliens design?

No Paul Wesley or other autos are in that incentive box. 6 inscriptions, a Carol Kane aliens version, printing plates, and limited insert cards. You only get regular full bleed or bordered autos in regular sealed boxes and cases.
Vinny
PS: I collect only full bleed autos and got them in ifish’s break, eBay purchases, and opening boxes.

Great! That’s what I thought. I’ll look for a case then.

Patiently awaiting the Season 3 premier...

Here's my full bleed Ethan Peck auto that I picked up from one of ifish's breaks:

Should I ask him about another S2 case break? I think I’d be in for 5-10 spots.

I'd be in for a couple spots myself. I don't really do group breaks that much, unless it's an ifish break through here.

Mainly just looking for a full bleed Rebecca Romijn auto at this point, so I might just pick one up off of Ebay.

I wonder if the slowness of Season 2 card sales here and on eBay is due to the show not being actively on for almost a year. The new Season 3 starts in mid July. People lose interest when a lot of the new shows take so long between seasons, imho.

Possibly. Could also be some Discovery spill over. Discovery was not well received (and Picard for that matter), so many may just written off new Trek shows. I think Strange New Worlds is easily the best of the bunch and will age much better than the other two.

The Peck autographs look questionable compared to Discovery...

The E looks nothing alike and the SNW look like someone was just writing his name...

He might have two autos though. This one is looks like the SNW and is probably legit..
