Nice pickup punctilious! The Heritage autos are so nice. Glad 2018 (1969) was a good design.

I must admit that I have a serious case of ADHD as I veered off course multiple times so far this year (and it's only March!) and acquired cards that were not consistent with the goals I set for myself. I am in the middle of righting some of those wrongs now by forcing myself to "let go" of some cards that, were it not for the fact I have limited means, I would have otherwise squirreled away like Gollum. Not all of us can be ballers like the Mayor and Hammertime (congrats again brother on that write up - what a collection you have, Sir!).

Happy Collecting to All and I hope each of you achieve your collecting goals for 2025 and beyond.
Incredible pickup, congrats! And thanks!

Beautiful auto, almost an infinitani signature.

Best believe that hammer and I need to sell to buy. We're all the same in this thread. Just a matter of when you started, how much you believed, and how aggressive you consolidated

Congratulations! I too am looking for one, preferably a Red but will be ok with a beautiful blue. I applaud you

Default New pickups!

My newest pickups! A licensed rookie auto feels a bit out of reach with prices so went for the next best thing in my mind which was a rookie cup! Paid $2.8k for the pair and had instant buyers regret but man after seeing them in person I’m in love!

Nice pickup, congrats. Is the No Hat blue ink ROA much more rare than the normal blue ink ROA? (just looking at the graded population suggests ~2:1, and the No Hat is much harder to gem)

Thanks, Mayor. That sig is definitely large and in charge. I hear ya and hope we are all enjoying this journey, I sure am.

Thanks, C&C. Oh man, the red sig on the no hat ROA just looks so right. If I could afford it, I would have gone that direction without hesitation. Good luck with the hunt!

Thanks, Alien123, appreciate it. This ROA was released in Heritage High Number and if I had to guess I'd say the print runs are similar but I honestly don't know for certain.

is going to own. ONE CARD. hes going to put it in the

next.

in 10 years when Ohtani's career is winding down, i would
say that there is a slim chance that Bowman's Best doesnt
even exist anymore. it certainly will not be as popular as
it is now, and now its not all that popular as its an off-brand
chromium (most of the time) release.

But yes, its still a rookie year autograph

Flagship on the other hand..... if in 10 years theres no more
Flagship then the world has probably come to an end.

Flagship started in 1952 and has never stopped. it ties together
all those greats of the past to todays players. Maybe nobody
will care then, but i doubt it.

so when SM brings out that 2018 US1 Clear that is numbered to 10
*i* think it will be a head turner.

*i* think thats a card that the real whales will want to own because
even IF the Best Auto IS "worth more", it will be alot easier to find one,
just pay up for it.

what happens if there are none of the other NINE US1 Clears on the market?
Sorry for the delayed response, been a busy weekend.

I get what you're saying.

If it were S2, I wouldn't be as vocal either (S2 > Update).

Truthfully, I think collectors don't care for acetate cards as much as they do paper/chromium stock cards (we see it with basketball cards). That doesn't mean there's no demand for such cards but they're just not as demanded as much as the latter (as of right now).

It'd still be cool to own but you shouldn't have to significantly overpay for it (even if there's only 10 of them). Also, if the trade were more fair (based on current values and not what the values could be down the road), I probably wouldn't be as vocal (against it) either.

have yet to find one for sale.
I understand because I've been searching for a single card for over a decade.

With that said, when such a card shows up, that doesn't mean you should significantly overpay to obtain.

If you still want the card but it's merely a value difference, you could ask the other party to add more to the trade to close the value-gap (to make it fairer).

beckett and psa slabs are awesome. Why anyone would want to put a big card in an SGC slab is baffling just to get a better grade. Everyone knows why a card is in an SGC..

BGS is probably in last place in the TPG race.

they have never recovered from doing nothing during the pandemic

I searched for nearly a decade for a single card (green PMG), one day it showed up but I was to late - it had already sold for around $150.

The seller didnt know what they had and I never saw it again.

I dont wait anymore - if it's /25 or under and on my list, I buy.

If a better condition one comes along, I'll replace it.

could not agree more.
far too many folks underestimate what their time is worth in searching for a card vs "overspending" for it

They're last place in the new card submission rank, but not even close to last place in the sales price. BGS slabs of key cards are highly highly valued and hold some of the best Brady, Mahomes, Ohtani, Lebron, and MJ cards. And many million dollar cards.

Overpaying for a $150 card isn't the same as overpaying for a $5k card, even if the % of overpay remained the same for those 2 cards.

I'm sure we all agree that it's easier to "overspend" on the former than latter.
