I think Oban above will be like many of those set builders. Expanding the parallels to the entire checklist will make that much rarer for people to try building.

They do, but that number has decreased. A lot of people got fed up with the additional parallels and stopped all together. It started with 2021 heritage and the red refractors. The only desirable chromes are the blacks, gold, and superfractor.

I quit building Heritage sets when they released gold refractors. There is no chance to complete a gold refractor set, so I stopped at 2012.

I agree. Long term, this release is Skenes dependent or will require a rookie to emerge unexpectedly. It’s a 225 card set. There is no reason to spend $225 per box on it. This isn’t a breakers product. The majority of hits are napkin relics or variation cards most breakers don’t recognize. This is all an artificial rise in prices because Fanatics is artificially masking the supply.

I think it is a little extreme to call this Skenes dependent. Chourio, Holliday, Merrill, Langford are all capable of carrying a product and I don’t think the success of any of them would be unexpected

Regular Heritage from this year is still $300 for a master. Sadly that required more than a case to build.

Maybe I’m overstating it but Skenes is unquestionably the current big RC in this set. Yep, others can emerge and get there but Skenes hype is huge. This is very reminiscent of the 1985 Topps set. Gooden took that set to big levels in the beginning but got hurt and the set dropped off. Eventually McGwire took it to the stratosphere. But that was a unique situation. Clemens and Puckett are also in there so it always held steady.

Chourio, Holliday, Merrill, Langford can keep the set steady but a $200+ box price begins and ends with Skenes unless one of those guys turn into Ohtani or Trout.

This is not correct. You will get 1 master set per case if the collation of the inserts are good. Can't get 2 master sets because of the odds for inserts.

Unlikely to get a mater set due to inserts. 501-725 sets are a different story.

Moot point for me because you get close to a complete 501-700 set in every single box and it’s torture opening after the first few boxes. Even worse torture putting together the three or so 501-725 sets and 7 more 501-700 sets.

At least these base sets might sell due to the rookies. Though 2022 heritage high 501-700 sets don’t sell despite Witt and Jrod rookies.

You can't get a Master Set from a single case due to the fact that you can only get a maximum of 96 SP's with perfect collation.
