My first submission is in a very similar situation. It arrived to PSA on 1/6 and didn’t go into prep until 1/30 and is still in research since that day. My estimated completion date is 4/3. I reached out to customer service and they said there were no issues with my submission. So on the positive, your submission is probably all good. Negative is it seems like they don’t prioritize a new account’s first submission

No data behind it; just found it interested that two different account have delayed first submissions when compared to similar submissions I have seen on here that are much farther in process. Could definitely just be coincidence

I skimmed over some of the thread, good thread. This has probably been answered before but does PSA grade on Saturdays? Can we expect grading/assembly updates from them on a Saturday?

Rarely, although I've had it happen where I get something moving a step in the PSA process on a Saturday or Sunday, but that has been very rare.

Hey man! I really appreciate your feedback. While this is my first time going through the entire process of a psa submission, I completed the submission using a friends account with plenty of prior submissions. While this proves your initial theory incorrect (at least in this case) maybe, there is a common user error that the each of us committed that has lead to our seemingly delayed but not actually delayed submissions. Hopefully this week we get some movement man!

Looks like Assembly is the biggest slow down right now.

Long time lurker of this particular thread, signed up just to give a data point as I have a particularly large bulk order at PSA (sent some of mine and some friends' cards) along with a smaller sized one:

Just confirming what a few folks have already pointed out:

Delivered > Order Prep is taking at least 4-5 weeks now

Order Prep > Research + ID is usually the same or next day

At this point i've just resigned myself to the fact that it'll be a miracle if I get anything back before June.

Another thing i've noticed is if you have the PSA app (at least on iOS), it tends to update the status on that sooner than it will be reflected on the PSA website's Orders page (the dates on the website will still be the same it just appears like the website itself is lagging behind a day or two while the database that the app itself pulls from is getting updated data much faster).

So on my 50 card order I saw it go to Order Prep on 3/14 on the app (actually got an iOS notification for it!) while the website still had it at Order Arrived and didn't show an actual Order Prep date of 3/14 until the next day on 3/15.

The estimated completion date is approaching, however the cards have been stuck in Research and ID for 2 months with no movement. I do know that for dual service, the cards get sent to PSA/DNA first to have the autographs authenticated. Once they are returned, Research and ID is complete.

Anyone else submit to Card and Autograph Dual Grading service near the end of 2024? I am curious what the actual wait time will be. Thanks!

PSA really needs to improve how they report status. They have different names/statuses depending on app or OS. Android mobile looks different from iOS mobile looks different from website.

Mine have been in "order prep" per the app and "arrived" per the website as of the same day, 18 Feb 2025. Tomorrow makes it a month with no movement since arriving at PSA. Normal so far.

Prior to this order, I don't recall an "order prep" step. It was always "arrived" or "delivered" and then the step after that would be R&ID. I'll have to update the verbiage used in the template for reference next time.

PSA reports arrival in two different ways. PSA barcode and the delivery service tracking number. We can use the "Find My Package" button on the website using the deliver service tracking number and that will just confirm what USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc reports in their tracking.

I think it goes to "Order Prep" in the app as soon as they scan the barcode.

If the PSA barcode were not on the outermost portion of the package then that leads to more delays. They'll still get to it but they set it aside to open the bigger outer box/envelope and scan the barcode on the smaller box inside later. Made that mistake once last year. Once was enough lol

*EDIT: Another thing to watch for is when the order actually gets an order number posted on the website. From PSA's 'journey' blog, "4. Order Entry. The time has come for your submission to be reviewed and entered into the PSA grading system. During the order entry process, all cards are accounted for and placed, along with the submission form, into an individual box for processing based on their service level. An order number is generated and emailed to you with a confirmation that your submission is now in process. At that time, your status bar will advance to the next step and your Orders page will update to include additional details on your pending order."

My order has been in Assembly since March 7th (though it did go from blue check to green check the same day).

Reholders are also slow right now. I upgraded mine to the 30 business day turnaround and it's estimated to be completed by March 27, but has been stuck on R&ID since 2/13.

Got 10's on most of the bigger cards, so I guess i'm happy?

Anybody been waiting a while for PSA to ship their orders? My grades popped last Monday, had 2 go to auction on Sunday, but no tracking on the rest of the sub coming to me. Wouldn’t sweat it normally, but 3 friends have cards in the sub and want to get them their cards

Random question and didnt want to create a thread for this but at some point in the previous months didn't PSA say they were removing the inner sleeves from thick cards when they grade them? I know they were having issues with some of the holders and maybe this is still ongoing. I just have a few PSA cards that I would like to be re-slabbed at some point once that inner sleeve is removed, it just makes the slab look much worse with that plastic in there.
