Is the Joe Burrow era just after certain guys left?

Maybe I dont know what Burrow era means?

He was on the team…

I’m being sarcastic as Burrow had a phenomenal day that day… Baker also did throw for 35 points

He's talking about playoffs I'm guessing.

He's a Browns fan/Mahomie, don't expect so much.

Higgins was overpaid. No way that was necessary. I get wanting to keep Burrow happy but you need to be realistic. They resigned Gesicki, resigning Chase makes sense. Could have drafted a 2nd WR. Their defense needs a lot of work. Higgins money should have went to that. You can't expect to depend solely on your offense to get you a Super Bowl. Impossible.

Still no news on Rodgers/Wilson/Winston etc...?

I want to find out who the Giants bridge quarterback will be to next year's draft.

Tetairoa McMillan ran a 4.48 40 at his pro day. Does this hurt or help his draft status? I think it's what most expected, so the needle doesn't really move one way or the other.

Doesn't matter. That guy's college tape is the best I've seen since Randy Moss. He catches everything and just rips it out of the air with his hands. I remember ESPN or ESPN2 or someone airing an Arizona game two years ago and couldn't believe how he was catching the ball - it looks so different than the average WR.

Umm…

No

He doesn’t have the best tape of 2024 let alone the last 25 years

Calvin Johnson
Marvin Harrison
AJ Green
Julio Jones
Larry Fitzgerald

My hand is getting tired of typing…

Amari Cooper
Justin Blackmon (yes he was better)
Mike Evans
Sammy Watkins

All had better tape

I could keep going but I won’t

Oh… Jeremiah Smith

And he’s 19

Starting to feel sorry for Wilson. He can't get a job until Rodgers decides what he's doing
He is a cocky, arrogant, me-first kind of guy, so he's deserving of this

Wilson and Rodgers are basically the same guy. The only place I could understand them starting next year would be for an expansion team but there aren't any of those.

Jerry Rice ran a 4.71, Fitzgerald ran 4.63, Chris Carter ran 4.63, Hopkins ran 4.57, Keenan Allen ran 4.71, Mike Evans ran 4.53, Kupp ran 4.62

McMillian isn't a speed guy, he's a big, athletic WR that can win all the 50/50 balls. I don't think teams that are interested in him will bat an eye at that 40 time.

That's your opinion. I concede J. Jones, Megatron, and Fitz were prototype monster WR's who were so great in college, they were easy Top 5 picks (J.Jones, 6th overall), and McMillan may as well be, too. McMillian is half J. Jones/Mega/Fitz, half AJ Green/DHop. If this guy played for OSU, he'd go Top 5, easily. Only time will tell if he's that good at the next level. I think he will be.

Jeremiah Smith is a monster, too.

Apparently you've never heard of Mike Williams (Lioins pick), David Terrell, Justin Blackmon, Charles Rogers, Nelson Agohlar, and endless others. Many of them were bigger, better teams, solid NCAA players, rd1 drafted... huge NFL busts.

The MAIN thing working against McMillan is that he's from a smallish school that doesn't play a ton of top NCAA opponents, marginal coaching. A lot of the things that work fine playing and dominating against UNMex simply don't work versus good NCAA teams and in the NFL.

More recent examples of smaller school first round pick WRs struggling in pro game would be Quentin Johnston, Treylon Burks, KToney, RBateman. They tend to bust a lot more than the big/ranked NCAA team guys do.

That's why most pro teams lean toward drafting guys from Bama, OSU, LSU, maybe Texas... they've played and hung with top competition. They've contended with top corners and run in pro style offense. With the other small school guys, it's a crap shoot. Are they really good, or are they just better than who they played?

I don't really buy this claim. These guys played in big time conferences against good and bad competition. Burks and Toney played in the SEC, Bateman in the Big Ten, and Johnston in the Big 12. DK and AJ Brown played at Ole Miss in the SEC and have done quite well for themselves, while Davante Adams played at Fresno State. Coming out of UM, Nico Collins was a 3rd round pick. You scout the attributes, watch the tape, and roll the dice. It is a crap shoot, just as almost every draft pick is. There are very few sure things across all positions.

Moss - Marshall
Fitz - Pittsburgh
Megatron - Georgia Tech

The list goes on. You don't have to go to a powerhouse school to be great in the NFL.

This is true. But I also agree that in recent years WR from LSU, Alabama etc seem to dominate the NFL. So you probably have a bigger odds of hitting a WR that will be good in the NFL from one of the big programs but you can still find great WR from other schools

Minnesota is reportedly engaged in “serious discussions” about signing Rodgers. Probably gonna happen. Then Wilson stays in Pittsburgh and Winston becomes the Giants' bridge QB.

I've been calling that a perfect fit for about 2 years now, though I am worried the ship has sailed.

I am not saying Rodgers has to revert to 2011 form, but he's gotta revert to something better than he showed in East Rutherford, NJ.

I said the same things about N’Keal Harry while watching a lot of Pac 12 after dark when he was at Arizona State.

Apparently they aren't too high on McCarthy at this point. They seem to believe they are a Super Bowl contender with Rodgers this year but not with McCarthy. If they sign Rodgers I'll predict the doesn't have a single 300 yard game and Jefferson is asking for a trade by November
