2024-25 Panini Court Kings Basketball Hobby - Any interest?

I didn't see a thread for this so thought I'd put it out there.

I see this at what seems like a decent price for a basketball hobby box. Understandably though, the 2024 class is weak and no one is too excited to open this year's wax.

But between this and the Totally Certified premium box on Target's site, what would be the better rip?

I may not dabble much into either, but I lean towards TC because of the higher floor with multiple numbered cards, game used, and numbered auto checklist.

Not a big wax guy but if I were to open a box I'd go for this over TC, for design as well as because I don't have to deal with as much base

If had to make a choice, probably Court Kings. It's a nicer looking set.
I have to think the singles will do better than TC but idk. Sales could be strong out the gate for TC but they'll fall like 23-24 Hoops Premium.

They're almost the same price. If you wait a bit, CK might go down in price just as Prizm has.
People aren't really buying 24-25 products. It's either a "sleeper class" or a "bust."

Court Kings is probably my favorite set every year so I'm looking forward to it.

Looks like they added new level to the RC's:

-1 Rookies II, III, IV, or 0

In addition to the two level I in every box

Target also has various coupons and incentives.

For instance, there was a period of time where a $15 off $90+ Target circle worked. And then there's your usual 5% off with Target redcard.

I'd much rather pay ~$142 shipped for TC vs. $187 shipped for CK but that's just me. I'm not ripping in volume either, it's a 2024-25 rookie class after all.

This is kinda where I'm at. If we're pinching pennies and looking at shaving from every angle, I'd rather do something from Target / Totally Certified. You could always flip this with a better margin (albeit small) if that is something that matters in your world.

Court Kings is always a unique and fun set, and this is the first year I can remember in a while that I can check on Panini and the prices are actually tempting to click "buy" on.

But yeah, how can I get excited to pull the next DeAndre Ayton as my best rookie card?

Love the design & frame used of the SSP La Cinque Piu Belle cards. Reminds me of the 2009-10 versions. Bummed not a Celtic included in the 5 card checklist though but they're really great looking.

Personally, not a single reason to buy a whole box, etc. But I may keep some saved searches for a insert chase if the card looks good.

Me too but I'll rather save the money and try again in 3-4 months when everything is cheaper (or should be cheaper).

But if you are buying now, go with TC.

They had the Rookie Exclusive short print for the #1 pick in the past few years.

Last year they made Rookie Exclusives for more rookies other than the #1 and put them in other products.

These Rookie 0s are basically the re-branded Rookie Exclusive.

That's base, yeah very different than past years. One of my biggest gripes on this product is that it's sticker auto

I have them all up on eBay. As I was listing I was surprised to find out that the KD and the Embiid are actually game used too. Just wanted to pass that along if you were to throw a bid in or buy one elsewhere down the road.

It's a niche product that has stayed pretty much the same design-wise over its entire history.....either you like it or you don't.

Some blank slates started popping up in Cardhobby. The cream color background is a turn-off just like the black ones last year. Hard pass.
