It should not be close Jokic should be way ahead but I guess it gets boring giving it to him every year.

SGA is having a historic season (30 PER, 10 BPM, .300 WS/48), it's gonna be All-Defense while leading a 65 win team (and the league) in scoring barely missing any games.

It's pretty much done now. Sucks for Joker, this is by far the best non-MVP season of all-time. But it's almost impossible to give it to him and snub SGA this season.

At this point, you'd have to think the Yoker maximalists are far more devastated about his 2nd MVP loss in 3 years than Yoker himself could ever be.

It doesn't matter who's going to win, whoever loses has the best regular season for a non-MVP winner of all-time. It sucks but it is what it is.

Wouldn't you, being in that small minority of people that think Yoker should win it this year and every year, be the actual DEI pick in this instance?

Or does the BBref tracker not account for contrarian nuances as well?


I'll probably give ya'll the Embum robbery. But 2025 is so far removed from an actual competition that the Joker crowd is now encroaching on Carl Sagan levels of dogmatic pseudoscience to justify a mental victory.

Where did I say he deserves it every year? If he didn't deserve it I wouldn't care. But he does, so I do. Hell, even giving him an all-star teammate might convince me for once that he isn't pulling the most weight, but Shai got that, not Joker.

Darko likes Joker, as does expected EPM. Shai finally edges Joker in actual EPM, so if you want to hang your hat on that, I guess you can. The tracker clearly favors Yoke. we are at an impasse.

Nobody but you cares about the tracker. Voters don't look at it, analytics people don't look at it... Just give up the tracker, it's pointless.

Shai just as good across all the advanced metrics

They're going to give it to SGA, but Jokic deserves it.

Jokić continues on track for the highest PER in history while averaging a triple-double. League-wide, he ranks third in scoring, third in rebounding, second in assists and tied for third in steals. To be top three in those four traditional categories is bonkers. Guys win MVPs with one of them. SGA ranks top three in two of them.
