Wow Trueblue that is a remarkable pickup. Its nice knowing that card is in the hand of a true fan and not just some hype beast flipper out there looking to pimp it for views.

I haven't bought anything from you in many months but I'll still accept a tiny fraction of the credit for funding that gorgeous card in any case

You son of a gun.

So happy for you and as others have said, to know that it is in the hands of a early/believer/adopter/fan is just Sho great!

Congrats, homie.

TB had to have a sly smile as we debated which card was better, the hitting super or the TN inscribed 1/1…

Whenever I listed a PSA 9 flagship parallel and it insta-sold, I knew it was going to SC. Thanks, brother.

Yes sir, thank you. Haha, there's a lot that can go wrong in-transit so I didn't want to say anything till it arrived safely. I think the TN is a great card too, just not my preference

I kind of wished it was a 9 so it was cheaper

Yeah, part of me was thinking that I have to bring this card home. No knock to influencers or people in the hobby, but I just want to quietly enjoy collecting.

Historic card. This is why BO forum is king.

I was a firm RD critic for the first 3-4 years since release so I completely understand any criticism of it not being a "true" rookie card. That said, it grew on me with a lack of other good flagship hitting options, it being a non-edited picture, and the market has clearly spoken. Who knows how we will look at these things in 10-20 years

I will never understand the hate for rookie debuts. In theory they are the perfect rookie card with an exact date and photo of their first appearance. Nice pickup!

I believe that the RD Ohtani cards will catch up to the Bowman hitting equivalents in time.

are all rookie debuts like that or does topps get lazy and just use a random image?

I have been saying for years that the hobby is sleeping on the RC debut cards. I have always maintained these are great cards because not only do their mark the players first game in MLB, they actually use a real image from the game. Not an airbrushed card like so many others.

Trueblue you make this forum!!!

Amazing pick up, TB.

I'm also a fan of RD's, especially since they're cheaper than regular flagship RCs.

Plus Flagship (and possibly Topps Now) are the only places where you're going to get a base card dedicated to the debt performance.

With all the hype surrounding the Debut Patches, maybe RDs will increase in value. But who knows.

Thank you again, guys. It's an impossible card to follow up with but had a couple nice ones pop today. It's baseball season!

Heck of a card. Congrats TB.

Love that WBC Black too! The flat scan doesn't do it justice but those cards are gorgeous.

Such a beautiful card. Congratulations!

I do not use any type of social media, so I am not aware of the story behind how you came to acquire this. Would you be willing to share some details for us?

Cheers
