Love his Bowman Chrome 1st auto. Great photo (unlike Witt and Gunnar) and not too many in PSA 10.

Just an update, the $30k buyer on the Chrome Update Superfractor backed out but my consigner was able to get in touch with the underbidder and negotiate a private sale. It ended up not significantly lower than what the auction ended at and the invoice has been paid, all in all ETA to my bank is Monday.

Sorry to ruin the comps for everyone. I think after fees and everything are settled 22-23k is the range the card ended up falling under. Not bad for a wax pull. And it sure beats the last 1/1 I sold - Bowman Chrome Martin Lopez, $400ish. Still, feels surreal. You can get superfractors in hobby boxes still! I'm not wealthy by any stretch, I think, but a good consignment guy on your side and a charter booking agent are worth their weight in gold (I'd say accountant but I haven't been able to find one who understands how to do my taxes yet, although, I doubt the IRS knows either since they're 2-3 years behind the tech at least).

Time to pop open a Pappy 15 I guess. I collect bourbon and scotch and this feels more like a Pappy sale instead of a Stagg or Laophraig, but not a 23 and definitely not a Stitzler-Weller Pappy. Cheers, all.

Glad to hear the sale went through… eventually.

No comps were ruined, it was his Chrome Update RC super. The only thing that really impacts is his Topps Chrome RC super, which, in theory, should sell for well over what the Update sold for.

Sounds reasonable. I’m just hoping for the Chourio who showed during the last few weeks of the season and playoffs. THAT player was a future superstar.

The most conservative models are saying 2.5-2.8 WAR. This is the lower end assuming his fielding doesn't improve but the Brewers did themselves no favors by moving him between the two corner outfield positions. He ended up playing 700 innings in left and 400 or so in right when RF was definitely a position better suited for him. If they keep him there even if his offense doesn't improve he's a 4 win player, but his walk rate was uncharacteristically low and his strikeout rate was higher than usual. If they both revert to the mean, he can be a 30-30, 4.5-5 win player. For his age 21 season. Possibly more if he gets moved to CF and turns out to be an above-average fielder.

My modest Chourio collection. Started before he blew up after I heard about his potential through Baseball America. As you can see, my 1st bowman attempts to gem were difficult lol

I'm shocked at how affordable his stuff still is. I know Jesus Made only has a couple cards right now but at the price he's selling for I would much rather put my money into Chourio.

Shhhhh… it’s called “a buying opportunity” and we usually don’t announce them to the public.
