There are a few cards that I didn't fully appreciate until I got them in hand. But once I saw them, my jaw dropped.
One is the 1997 Donruss Limited Star Factor Limited Exposure. This is one of the shiniest cards on the planet. You just can't appreciate it until you see it in person. ![]() Another is the 1996 Select Certified Mirror Gold. While these are well-known beauties, when you see them in hand, it truly looks like melted gold. ![]() As Dyna mentioned, the 1997 Finest Gold Embossed Refractors will also make your jaw drop. ![]() Star Rubies have a reputation for jaw dropping beauty. ![]() But for me, the one card that did it was the 1998 Donruss Crusade Green. Once I saw it in person, it sparked a passion for that set like no other card has done. It sent me on a quest to track the more rare versions down. And I must say, even after acquiring the more desirable purple and red versions, the green still stands out for its beauty. ![]() ![]()

This card made my jaw drop when I saw it and knew I had to have it. It looks similar to another card in this thread though.

As a kid - I just couldn't understand how they put a baseball on a card. It just wasn't possible.
![]() As an adult - I have a few petty decent cards, but none caught my eye when I opened up the envelope like this one has. I don't know why. Something about the perfect background colors on each pic, they way they mix with the green border, the fact that it's the best dual RC ever made....I don't know. But it still makes me stop when I'm looking through the collection. ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hatch - you might own the nicest ungraded copy of a T99 retrofractor. The back looks damn near perfect.

Thanks. It's the only card in my collection where I care about the back as much as the front. My base Pujols retro is close to this nice, but my gold holofoil is trash compared to the two. I've never graded a card in my life but I'm probably going to make an exception for this one. Between the centering, the surface and the back I feel like it's at least a 9. The upper back right corner will probably stop it from getting a 10. Knowing my luck it'll come back a 7. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
