Boston just paid Devers and gave Bregman a 3-year (Op-out after year 1 though) deal, the likely hood of Henry shelling out another 5+ year deal over $300 million is slim to non.

Bregman has an opt out after one year. No was they upset the franchise guy who has 8 years left on his contract for the guy who will likely be gone after one year. Raffy knows that. Bregman will move to 2B.

The problem is he's a zero at 3B at this point in his career. If he cared about winning he'd put his pride aside and maybe he still will do that at some point. If he just accepted the full time DH role he'd probably be available more then he been the last few seasons and he probably hits 40+ HR not having to worry about playing the field.

Only way he would have signed is if they would have offered him a Soto contract, and that wasn’t going to happen.
