We got a hell of a storm around 6:30 this morning. A line went through that had some strong storms. We were planning to go do something today, but we’ve already decided not to go on the roads to Columbia. It was bad, I thought the big oak in my yard was going to come down.

Shooting to go do something tomorrow. The plan is bowling and arcade games at Stars and Strikes. I’ve been wanting something good to eat, so I’m trying to figure out what that is. Plenty of options down there.

I wouldn't go to Columbia either because I enjoy living.

Rain all day yesterday and most of today so far. Maybe we'll have a nice April and May then for outdoor photography.

Nope! Plus you’ll be going to all of Jr’s baseball games.

Outskirts. It’s technically Irmo, but anything south of Chapin is Columbia as far as anybody is concerned. I use to teach in one of the worst areas of Columbia. I saw some stuff.

Well, if it's not going to be nice in April and May, then his games will be rained out.

I photographed Irmo's new Pierce tiller 2 years ago at the SC Fire Rescue Conference. That was just after they lost a firefighter.

I can't keep up with all of the suspensions lately. Someone should start a tread to keep track of them and how many days.

A Tale Of Hairy's Hood

Saw my jackwad neighbor (who rents out his house year-round as an Air BNB despite owner occupancy law which would require him to be living there - he isn't) out in the street in front of his house trying to break up ice in the midst of a steady rain. Curious, I asked him why he was doing that. He answered that his sump pump backed up into his basement. Hmm...
Maybe that's why you're supposed to drain the sump pump into the sewer line, which is far enough underground not to freeze, instead of scamming on your water/sewer bill by jerry-rigging something to drain it out into the street?

I enjoyed the schaudenfreude of the interaction.

I suggested a rolling banner doing just that the other day - no interest among mods, apparently.

So he feels the same way about you?

I saw your request. No ways the mods would do it. Why should they? Just to keep us in popcorn? Any thread created for this purpose would have to be maintained by people who are seemingly in every thread...

I don't see any way the Daytona 500 is going to finish without at least 1 rain delay. I just checked my radar and the line of thunderstorms is already east of Ocala and moving that way. I see the storms hitting in the 3:30-3:45 range (if not sooner). The race has not even started yet.

UConn is embarrassing the lady Gamecocks today at home. I don’t remember the last time we were down 22 at the half. I tried to tell people this team wouldn’t be among the best in the country and got told they would. No shooting and not physical enough to repeat.

A 29 point loss at home. Game wasn’t even that close. This team just doesn’t have what it takes to be a top team. It won’t shock me if they don’t make it out of their regional this year.

My wife went to the firehouse to get some secretarial work in. Due to the high winds, they closed the 301 bridge here so if she wants to come home, she has to take the long, long way. Our youngest SD told her she could stay tonight at her house. My Son told her to do it so we could have a Boys Night.

I just went out and bought us dinner. There are branches down everywhere on the backroad.
