I havent said much about it, but this decision really took the wind out of my collecting sails. Flagship Black was THE card to hunt for.

It has pedigree, it's rare and desirable, tough to grade, and collectors pay a premium.

Why on earth would you remove them from the hunt while you're simultaneously adding in every color parallel on the planet.

The problem with grading everything with PSA just because they sell for the most is that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, even if PSA shouldn't sell for the most. The only way to affect change is to grade with who is the best, and sacrifice theoretical current value.

Honest question - not buying is easy for the collectors, but what about people in the business (whether LCS owner or side hustle)? They change their line of work?

No horse in the race, but seems weird to yank one one the more popular chases from the product. I always enjoyed coming across the cards in bargain boxes as they made for relatively easy flips to the player, team, and set collectors.

Well, for those people it’s a business and they just sell whatever the latest product is. They may choose not to add any of the new stuff to their collections, and that’s their personal choice for their PC. They can’t let the discontinuation of a parallel affect their choice to carry a product. As long as there’s a buyer, they sell. The card business is a business just like any other.

Then it seems very bizarre to replace a product blue-blood with whatever newly concocted parallels they have added to the mix.
