Default This week's dose of tinfoil...

Found this on Reddit recently and thought it was a pretty good post. Is it really a behind-the-scenes look at what's currently happening? Or is it just another conspiracy theory?

Not tinfoil in the slightest

It's a hobby filled with some of the sleeziest individuals outside of Washington DC... price fixing is built in

Profit margins go brrrrr

So Panini is suing Fanatics for anti-competitive behavior while also making sure the prices of their products aren't determined by dealers competing against each other for customers?

Seems hypocritical.

Some more information from the rogue hobby shop owner. I can believe this but it looks like it could be photoshopped.

Important that this post is from "allaboutthehobby". For reference, this is one of the only hobby shops that has straight up lied and scammed me.

When 19-20 prizm basketball came out and this was start of the true boom and Zion mania, they completely F'ed me on prizm basketball cello boxes. Was an absolutely unbelievable pain in the ass to get my money refunded and had to go through multiple routes. They shipped me partials of my preorders, and then refused to refund essentially doubling the cost to me so they got closer to a market price rather than the cheaper price I locked in preorders at.

Ironic these idiots are now crying foul. Allaboutthehobby is among the biggest scammers out there. I'm sure there are other blowout posts about them on here too, I remember those posts at the time

I've seen reference to that from others in previous posts, but it appears they have rehabilitated their reputation a bit. Either way, I believe they are being honest about the distro prices and behind-the-scenes fu**ery.

Maybe they are, but all that's really happening is the situation has changed so that these scammers can no longer take advantage of others themselves. Known scammer crying foul they lost that opportunity is rich as hell

They scammed me too.

And I have never accused anybody of scamming me. But these guys, Josh in particular, sold me a case of 2019 Mosaic and never shipped. For long after the original delivery date he told me personally that there was just a delay and it would ship soon, while keeping my money. Eventually I had to do a chargeback to get my money back, and never even got an apology, excuse, or anything.

So all the scams happened at the time when cards started to chart to the moons of Ja and Zion and pre-order prices were back in the one eight. Checks.

Would be a funny twist of irony if a dealer sues Panini for interfering with their business and ability to price cards how they want.

just to refresh everyone's memory

AllAboutTheHobby is a scammer. I think a good amount of people on this forum fell for the same thing.
