Default Serious question for Lebron collectors

Rookies aside, what Lebron teams do you collect more. Cavs, heat or lakers. Just wondering because he has a huge split and did great things with all the teams. Kind of like most Jordan collectors ( myself included ) only collects Bulls. Or Griffey collectors pretty much collect Mariners…Lebron is a little more difficult to split up by team.

I would like to see an in-depth Lebron supercollector thread, that goes through the various issues. Want to see the best of each era. Know why certain cards of each year are grail.

Then again, it's probably the wrong player. More likely that someone could afford to put that together of a Carmelo Anthony.

I was lucky enough to get in early, so I only collect his rookies and unopened from 2003-04.

Like anything, it all depends on what you can afford.

You mind putting up some images and stories? Going issue by issue. Prices, when purchased and now, for the investor community?

Lebron's best years were with the Heat, his most iconic moments were with the Cavs, and his twilight years are with the Lakers. Won a chip with all three organizations. Not as many great Heat cards were made as the case with Cavs and Lakers cards.

Interesting that you feel he has more great Lakers cards than Heat cards. I feel like most would argue his Heat years were the best of the Panini years (2012-2015ish?), whereas his Laker years align with Panini's own twilight years of decline.

I think that’s the biggest reason his Heat cards have the kind of demand they do.

Even though he won multiple rings, it just seems like a pit stop and the way he left Cleveland, you kind of eliminate any of that fan base. I’d imagine Wade was more collectible when they all joined so I’m not sure where the demand comes from. Maybe if he stayed in Miami during the years he went back to Cleveland, his Heat cards would be in higher demand.

Great answer.

I think all of his Cavs stuff is the go to.

Then the Lakers.

Then the Heat. Nobody liked that team.

Its interesting to think about....

Obviously Cavs fans would prefer Cav's cards the most. Same for any of the 3 teams.

What does playing for multiple teams do for collect-ability in the long run??

Its fair to assume, there more super collectors of Jordan and Kobe, all whom mostly played for one team. I could even see someone like Steph Curry having more "super collectors" or at least more of a fan favorite.

That said, Lebron has had an incredible NBA career, and still going moderately strong. Think most all Modern NBA collectors, have some Lebron. Much more affordable to jump into a rookie, than say Steph Curry.

Im not really a Lebron super collector; but have pretty much slowed down on selling any Lebron, and just keeping what i pull. Dont seek it out.

For me; I like his rookies first; non-rookies, earlier the better, but i do like the Heat jersey/look of Lebron in Miamis colors. The Lakers are fun too, mostly cause it's the Lakers,.... so kind of a 3 way tie for me, but certainly the earlier stuff in theory would be more valuable. Imagine the Lebron fans collect all 3...and seek out their favorite sets... unless your team is CLE, Miami/LA.
