Is anyone going?! Mellencamp, Willie, and Dylan at the WI one I'll drive up for. Haven't seen Mellencamp yet, 2nd time I'll be seeing Willie, and #18 for Dylan! I'm pumped for this one.

That's good news.
We'll see it soon.

Just got home from seeing "A Complete Unknown".
I still have to see "The Brutalist" with Adrien Brody who is the current frontrunner for it, but Chalamet should certainly has a shot at the Best Actor Oscar. A nomination is in the bag.

Highly, highly enjoyable film, even though it only covered 1963 to 1965.
Maybe they'll all get back together at some point and do another movie covering the next few years. As classics-laden as it was, there's a lot of great songs they couldn't get to only because they hadn't been written yet.

Watching it as an absolute Dylan encyclopedia, I found tons of inconsistencies with parts of the movie. Chalamet killed it though and there was no way you could fit 2 years of Dylan in 2 hours and not take some liberties. Just knowing it's going to introduce Dylan to a lot more people is what makes me so excited for it's success

Garth Hudson, last surviving member of The Band, has died. For any music fans, watch The Last Waltz. This guy was an amazing musician

Chalamet is host and musical guest on this week's SNL.
As he has no songs of his own I know of, it seems likely he may be performing live as Bob Dylan, which he should be able to do given that he learned 40 Dylan songs in preparation for filming the movie.

The older I get, the more I appreciate Dylan. Younger me couldn't get over the voice, older me appreciates the song writing. My dad loved his music.

I really only got turned on to him during the Traveling Wilbury's days as I was a big Petty and Cash fan.

I still need to watch the movie. My youngest is a big Chalamet fan. Might take her this weekend. Safe for a 14 year old?

I'd say so.
There's just a little bit of language, although also a lot of cigarette smoking as was the fashion in those days. There were definitely drugs going around, too, but the movie doesn't touch much on that at all.

Chalamet hosted his 3rd SNL last night (well on the way to membership in the illustrious "5 Timers Club") and he performed 3 Dylan songs:“Outlaw Blues”, “Three Angels”, and “Tomorrow is a Long Time”, the last of which is embedded in the link below.

As tempting as it might have been, he did well not to straight-out imitate Bob for these performances, since he'd already shown he could do that in the movie.

Forgot to post that on here, what an awesome list of deep cuts he did (one of which Dylan himself has never played live).

Was quite a week..got to see some Dylan covers that don't really pop up too often, and he released a few 2025 dates..one being in Mankato,MN! It's like he did it just for me! Last time he played at this center was in 2019 and it was a top 5 Dylan show for me so I'm really looking forward to it.

In something of a surprise, Chalamet just won the Screen Actors Guild award for best actor for his performance as Dylan. Adrien Brody from "The Brutalist" has been the frontrunner for the Oscar throughout the awards season, but tonight's result really does make it a toss up between the two for the Academy Award which will be given out next Sunday.

I never follow the awards season for anything but this is pretty cool. There's been a pretty big rise in Dylan interest, makes me wonder what the Dylan Days festival will be like in Duluth this year. I attend every year and it's usually a pretty soft crowd at best.
