Good 1st half of the show the 2nd half really dragged for me even at only 2.5 hr total. They need to figure out how to spread the hot segments out better.

Balor/Priest was good, but how many times does Priest need to beat him exactly to move past this story? It was cooked in October and it's January now.

Penta is going to sell so much merch. I don't know where he'll ultimately end up landing on the card, but it was cool to see how over he was with the crowd last night.

Apparently Penta is already getting heat backstage? Guess the match ran long and the interview ran long and they had to trim other things? Not even sure how this is possible. The whole moving to Netflix eliminated the hard end.

Especially when they wasted a solid 5-10 minutes in the middle of the Finn/Priest fight putting Finn on a stretcher and selling a potential neck injury, just to have him "recover" after he was attacked and wrestle another 10 minutes.

The recovery ruined it for me. It’s hard to pretend it’s real if they pull stunts like that.

Once you bring the stretcher and medical team out, the match is over. It also doesn't help that people seem to be done with that feud. And extremely one-sided feud at that.

I do enjoy that they let Penta speak for a bit. I don't think I ever heard him say more than two sentences at a time in AEW.

Very happy to see Penta reception to his debut. Started off a little clunky and had me worried. Good thing they had the show in San Jose because the crowd kept with it and you could tell they wanted him to do well and by the end they were eating it up.

I think they should, because no one seems to care about it. Both those groups are awful though.

The Penta/Gable match was a good debut for Penta. And his English is better than I remember.

Valkyria/Dakota was solid enough and going with Lyra seems to make more sense.

Priest/Balor was decent, but it better be the end to this stale feud.

I think either one winning would have been fine. I actually thought they were going to give Dakota the belt as a thank you for being around so long and keep battling back from injuries. But IMO, Valkyria is the better wrestler. She kind of reminds me of the path that Becky took. Becky had that steampunk gimmick for years until she became The Man. That is when she took off. I think Lyra eventually sheds the valkyrie gimmick and that is when she takes that next step to becoming a world championship contender.

Looks like there's going to be a program with Graves and McAfee which I bet happens at WM based on his tweet from last night and earlier today. He doesn't mention Pat but if you read between the lines of last night's tweet it's about him.

Good for Graves if he's cleared to do wrestling again.

The guy at PWInsider is really doubling down. He did change his claim to "they weren't mad at Penta, they were mad that their time got cut." He blamed all kinds of things, from even though they don't have a "hard out" they have an internal time and will keep to that, to wrestlers needing to catch flights, to accruing overtime on their venue rental.

The segment went 13 minutes, so I'm guessing it ran 3 minutes long. Literally not a deal breaker. Speed up the stretcher part of Finn/Priest. Cut a dark match a little short. Or, easiest, just run 3 minutes long. The guy was trying to make it sound like it was pushing hours longer.

I will say that the ending of Sami/Miz seemed a little rushed, with the out of nowhere helluva kick and blue thunder bomb.

Not so fast my friend...

Word is he's legit pissed about being demoted to NXT and I don't blame him; his tweet this morning seemed like he was gonna set something up tonight...

But apparently he's either been "sent home" or is gonna be lame- they tried to get rid of me but here I am anyways "promo"

Yeah, I'm a big McAfee fan, but it's gotta be tough to see them work around his schedule all the time. I would be pissed if I was Graves too.

Caught up on Raw today and wow what a debut for Penta. Great match and they presented him like an absolute superstar. Excited to see what's in store for him and I hope WWE keeps him far far away from the LWO quagmire that Dragon Lee got stuck in.
