Yea, I just came across it again. Seems like a snake oil salesman... 25 min course for his 10 years+ of experience. Really surprised I am seeing this now, definitely a 2020/21 thing to do to try and get money from people who don't know anything about sports cards.

Didn't need to in 2020-2021 when it was fairly easy to make money on cards. Now all these guys with 10+ years experience in a bull market are going busto and and need to find new ways to make money.

After a slow start, December finished 2024 as my 3rd best month in net sales.

Sales ($) By Month
1) August
2) October
3) December
4) September
5) April
6) June
7) May
8) November
9) July
10) February
11) January
12) March

For 2024, my net sales were 46% higher than 2023. My volume sold was 10% higher. I did not have many more listings in 2024 than 2023. On 12/31/2023 I had just under 50,000 active listings. On 12/31/2024, I had just under 59,000 active listings.

Similar story for me. December ends up #5, but that's ahead of February and March and only $100 behind April. Those three months should be ashamed of themselves since I'm 100% baseball!

1) July
2) May
3) June

4) April
5) December
6) January
7) March
8) November
9) February
10) August (vacation)

11) September
12) October

My total sales for Q4 2024 were up 60% on almost identical spending compared to last year.

I wanted to see where I lined up with you two in terms of monthly sales. It's hard to compare figures to 2023 as I fully believe ebay did some major shift on their platform that caused sales after August to plummet. Could have been the market softening too but seems very strange how sales after August 2023 were about half of what they were the previous months. If i had to compare to 2023, net sales were down by 27% in 2024. The last 5 months have been trending upwards in sales minus October so outlook is looking good to get back to 2023 figures unless ebay implements even more changes/fees.

2024
Top-Tier Sales Months
1) August
2) September
3) December
4) March
5) November

Mid-Tier Sales Months
6) July
7) February
8) January
9 ) October

Lowest Tier Sales Months
10) May
11) April
12) June

I’m hoping tax refund season helps move a few of my higher-priced items.

You don’t have the same hopes for dependent FSA reimbursement season?

Here is a new one. Anyone seen this? Had a buyer reach out and say his tracking says I requested the item be returned.

"As requested by the sender, the package is being returned. Contact the sender for additional information. / The sender requested that we return this package."

This is todays message on the tracking. I never requested anything be returned, although it says I did. Anyone see this before?

I recently switched from feed scanner to flatbed scanner. The scans look a lot better, but I am spending too much time cropping pictures. Does anybody here use an auto-cropping tool?

Does your scanner software allow you to change the size of the scan? I switch mine to 3"x4" scans for single cards. It scans quickly and they are cropped already. I'm using a Canon Lide I believe.

I have an Epson Perfection V600 and while I love the scans, I have the same question. Anyone have any experience with auto cropping?

Kronocard’s scanning software will autocrop cards in the V600. You can then find then in the scan directory if you want to use them elsewhere. You can probably record a script in Photoshop to automate cropping scans with Batch.

Here is my % of inventory sold by month, starting in December 2024, (with prior year in parentheses);

Dec 2024: 14.7 (9.8)
Nov 2024: 16.3 (7.9)
Oct 2024: 7.9 (16.0)
Sept 2024: 10 (23.9)
Aug 2024: 21.2 (29.1)
July 2024: 28.0 (37.8)
June 2024: 21.2 (20.4)
May 2024: 19.9 (14.0)
April 2024: 12.2 (22.1)
March 2024: 8.6 (16.5)
Feb 2024: 7.8
Jan 2024: 10.5

The total for all months is 17.1%. That's an average of 0.56% per day.

You can see where I really got crushed in February, March, and April of 2024, in what should be peak selling season.

Based on Q4 this year vs last I would expect January to come in between 12-16%. Right now I'm on pace for 12.5%.

Here's why you start your auctions at $1.00 instead of $0.99. At 99˘ the second bid is $1.04. At $1.00, the second bid is $1.25. That makes a big difference on those ~$1 items.

Pisses me off to no end when I upsell additional items and they get dinged for promoted listing. eBay didn't do anything to promote them to this buyer - I did.

Edit: I understand/assume it's because the original purchase was from a Promoted listing, but stand by my statement! They shouldn't get credit for the additional sales.
