I’m a big marvel fan but Dune was 500 boxes total compared to 500+ cases. And these are not original pics. I was able to get a case and immediately sold cause I am not stupid but these will not be $1k a box in a month especially once other stuff releases. Masterpieces isn’t even at that level and that is far superior.

The Dune set checklist was 10 cards, this is 100. So, 500 Dune boxes vs. 5000 boxes of this is a mathematical "wash" in terms of print..like someone earlier said, It will be interesting to see if people try to make 20-card sets of what segment they collect, I think the singles market could go that route..pulling a favorite character from this will be tough, with only 5 out of 100 characters per box. It will be fun to see where this goes, boxes could tap out at $500 or soar to over $1000, tough to forecast.

Topps pushing it as a "1st" combination set could also drive interest: the name itself , "Genesis" suggests a "first set/beginning"... this is an easy hold for me buying a few at $100 per box, I'll hold for a long time and see how it shakes out, it will definitely be fun to watch.

The Dune set was a 1 off aswell, there are tons of better Topps Disney and Star Wars + 1x Marvel already out, by the time these ship these boxes will be $200 again and anyone whos paid $600 now will be starting ebay cancellation processes. Absolutely nothing sellers can do to stop that.

eBay cancellations have already probably started since the boxes are dropping in price.

This sucks. I tried for over an hour and then I fell asleep. I woke up and now I see the 6 boxes back in my cart but i says sold out. I was at the PayPal step earlier before it crashed. Oh well. I'm not paying scalper prices for this.

With these not shipping right away this will be a better opportunity to buy than I even thought it would be. A lot of buyers (including myself) don’t get too crazy with their buying until the boxes are in hand, so sales could stall for a little bit until the boxes are in hand. Once people see the quality of the cards there will be more buying. That’s how it went with Dune, people fell in love with the quality of the cards, the website says they’re 48pt. Should be nice!

So hard to tell these days what will and won’t spike. A lot of folks said the OG Star Wars Sapphire would be a $1k box in time, and it didn’t happen. If it starts to dip under $300, I’d buy one just to take a gamble.

I have a feeling once a proper Marvel set comes out people will forget all about this Frankenstein of a set and you'll see boxes dip. Singles should keep strong, though, as everyone will want Wolverine's Topps rookie card.

The hobby… especially during the current breaker era… definitely will always gravitate toward the shiny and new and under Topps (as well as last 2 years of Upper Deck) there is no shortage of shiny and new Marvel products. I agree with your assessment that key singles will stay strong. One factor in prices of sealed might be how long certain key 1/1s remained unpulled and how much the key ones that are pulled command on secondary. Will be interesting to see what the top sold prices for the key 1/1s go for.

There are already 2024 Chrome and Sapphire Marvels sets aswell as the 2023 and 2024 Disney ones, this Genesis set is never going to keep value
