I can see him having to do a Bellinger / Snell type of deal where he signs a high AAV but short term and an opt out after each year.

I’d like to live in an alternate timeline where the Orioles didn’t throw all of that money at Chris Davis and let Christian Walker step into that spot.

I absolutely love this signing. I screamed for them to try to trade for Walker the past 2 trade deadlines. He immediately becomes the best 1B they’ve had since Bagwell. I’m sad to know this is the end of Bregman in Houston but this is what him and Boras get for handling his free agency so poorly. I hope he doesn’t have to settle for a “Boras Special” 3 year deal with a bunch of opt outs.

I don’t think Jim Crane is done either. Arenado blocking the trade lit a fire

If the Astros are going to do anything more of any relevance they will have to trade Presley and hope someone eats some of his contract and that Presley waves his no trade. Have a feeling this may be the team they take to Spring Training since they want to stay under the CBT threshold.

I don’t think Crane cares about going over the 2nd threshold this year. I don’t care what Chandler and the talking heads are “reporting”. Crane isn’t going into the season with Chas Meyers and Dubon as his starting OF. It’s either a Pressly trade for someone like Mullins or he’s just gonna cut the check for Santander
