Will the higher end parallels, like emerald and lava, get cheaper in a few weeks or months? I wonder if I should hold off on buying them right now.

Leader looks mad.
The mini box and kaleidoscope combinables both look really good. All the pack pulled chrome parallels look so washed out lacking the transparency through the foil layer to the actual art design. Look up the difference in the seismic golds for MP vs. MM92P for example. The mini box and kaleidoscope jazz up the art without completely covering it up.

Mini box looks great - my fingers are crossed that people chasing the achievements will stop bulk trades and the pack price is such that it'll be difficult to get to the Kaleidoscope parallel (although not impossible!). COMC values on mini box seem to be dipping quickly in spite of it being "better" than base or perhaps platinum. So it goes.

Where do we think mini box minor characters will end up? I’ve been picking a bunch up at $3.25-5.25 range. Like most in the set. Did I overpay?

Is there a precedent for a 5-combinable parallels and where prices usually end up once the flood really starts going?

Don't buy anymore for at least a few weeks. They'll be quarters or less(most characters) before to awful long.

Dang even for a combinable exclusive like that?

You’re right I better hold off. Bought a good portion of the set already. I’ll wait now for the rest. At least I didn’t buy any of the big ones yet.

That feels like the right price. It might get lower, but not while the printing plate achievements are active (in my opinion). I like how you extrapolated the numbers a few posts ago. Blue Traxx shouldn't be the same price as mini box - I think those will stay put as more get transferred and claimed in trades.

Look up 2020 X-Men Metal blues & 2022 Spider-Man Metal blues. Took 10 base to make those. Tons of them are in that .08-.75 range.

Hit a Blue PMG, but it doesn't even look like one.

Delusional my friend. There is a metric ton of this stuff on there. Only takes 5. Look at past releases. No way they stay that high.

Default Skybox 2024 1992 MM Platinum

Thanks appreciate the insights.

Eh I figured I’d be happy to get a whole set of that for like $500ish or less. I see both points y’all are making. Right now it’s a solid deal at that range. But I’m also overpaying when it comes to long term.

It’s a great hit…but man this Juggernaut…looks like the blue foil is literally running off the card at left. Oh well…it’s a blue PMG!

I understand that, but if UD withdraw 10%, 20%, 50% of the stock from epack as it appears they did with some other sets, there isn't going to be as raw cards to trade up, regardless if they combine them now or 2 years time.

As for the cards confirmed to be available post Dec 31st. I am sure there is another date that they will be required to get rid of the rest of the sets, could be end of Jan, could be Dec 31 2025, no one knows yet all speculation. The thing is they need to sell A LOT of these packs/boxes and im thinking the interest is going to die down pretty quick, especially with MM24 around the corner

Yea MM24 around the corner. And I think UD is gonna learn that us collectors in the hobby don’t have infinite dollars. This stuff is expensive. And there’s a ton of it. And it’s smack dab between a zillion other sets. It’s also around holidays.

I usually buy into anything MM, but I made a decision to not buy any ePack of this and just pick up singles on COMC.

I know there are some whales in this hobby who are going full throttle on a release like this no matter what, busting epack case after epack case (seeing some same names with many of the top cards on epack as usual). But I just don’t know…for the majority of the hobby, money has to be fairly tight. I’ve been thinking about this lately when deciding to auction stuff on eBay in marvel cards- not a good time. Hobby money is finite. Too much competing for it. This release could indeed take very long time to sell out. I do expect it to, before UD has to pull product, but we’ll see.

The naming of this on COMC is going to suck when MM24 hits...

"2024 Upper Deck Marvel Masterpieces '92"
vs
"2024 Upper Deck Marvel Masterpieces" (I assume)

A lot of overlap when searching that’s for sure.

“2024 marvel masterpieces” will also be picking up the MM XL set, not that there’s a ton of it on comc (lol MM XL…anyone even remember that? This hobby is very much a ‘what is new and hot’ mindset).

Also on the naming note, I’m surprised they didn’t have ‘Platinum’ in the title of this one on comc.

Picked this up on comc for a not at all bad price. Regardless of value talk regarding this set…these cards look pretty cool.

Likely due to the 80-character limiit on ebay auctions - with this many parallels and variants it's hard to fit it all in.

It was brutal trying to get 50 base of a character a lot of people want from an overpriced $17.99 a pack product with only 4 cards per pack...
But with some work, and trading away a lot of stuff, I am pretty happy with the Black Cat "Kaleidoscope" Parallel!

I think there is a possibility that the prices of the high end cards are going to bottom between now to a few weeks after the 2024 MM releases, cause there are finite buyers with finite funds to spread between many sealed products and singles in a small period of time. Buyers will have to make choices between one product they want with another, but as time goes by, they'll have more funds to buy stuff they missed out on earlier, which drives up demand and prices on the higher end cards.

Also we are getting close to Topps releasing its initial wave of products under its new global license.

Collectors will always gravitate toward the shiny and new. Upper Deck has been releasing shiny and new Marvel stuff every couple weeks lately so when Topps starts inevitably releasing a bunch of Marvel products it might actually seem like things are slowing down.
