Remember hype is everything in this hobby. Once the hype dies off and the people who only buy and open to capitalize on the new, hot products move on to the next hot products, prices drop like a rock.

I bought my Ledecky base auto for under $400. I never expected to pay that little, for a card numbered out of 29 of the greatest woman swimmer of all time. I paid around $350 for my Phelps base auto. They were both $1000+ cards when they came out.

Even black and red refractors of the lower level athletes sell for under $10 and some even less than $5. Very rare you can pick up a card numbered out of 5 for under $5.

I agree with you. I wish I would have seen this as well. I would have cracked that thing out of the slab so fast. I don't like graded cards as part of sets.

Last night BreaksandTakes on YouTube did another case break of Olympic Chrome. Amazing case btw, but a Carl Lewis base autograph was pulled. The person's name in the YouTube chat is Scott Dyer. Does anyone know him and know how I can get in touch with him? I want to make an offer on the Lewis since I need it in my autograph set. I'll even send a small finder's fee to whoever gets me in touch with him or anyone else who has a Lewis base autograph out of 14.

BTW, I know there's one on eBay, but I don't want a graded one and I'm not paying the price they are asking for.

Honestly shocked at low prices are for this product. I waited a while because I wanted some Phelps. I figure he's probably the biggest draw in this.

Picked up a bunch of numbered Phelps for $5 or less each this week. Got a gold /50 PSA 10 for under $20 and an /76 PSA 10 for under $90. I paid up on that one just because I think it looks the best and I think I was the only bidder but I don't care. Probably get a few rainbows since they're that cheap.

This is one amazing set of cards, but unfortunately, it was a hype-driven set. For about a month after the Olympics singles were still selling great, but after that, they started losing steam. I can't tell you how many of my black refractors I picked up for under $10 and some for under $5. Even one or two of my reds I bought for $5 or under. Name another Chrome set from any sport that you can find cards out of 10 or 5 for under $5 each. I paid $95 for a Curry orange and 2-3 months ago the same card would have sold for $300-$400.

Yeah, someone listed a Phelps Gold auto /50 for $250. Was thinking about that one and someone snagged it.
I really like the /76 ones so I'll get those of Phelps at a minimum.

Yes, I am building the 8-card set of Olympic Champions autographs out of 76. I only have two right now, but they look good and are on-card autographs.

I have a saved search on eBay for "2024 olympics lot" in the Sports Trading Cards category and so many of the listings are for lots of the same Topps Now card. I think sellers are going to be trying to unload these Topps Now cards for decades.

I just opened a case from BO that I ordered as a Christmas present to myself. If you have any needs to fill, let me know. It was a pretty nice case. Highlight was a Phelps 76 Champions auto. Can't beat an on-card auto!

Thanks, I pulled the Huske myself and purchased the Choi/O'Brien. I graded myself thru pcsportscards, I'll buy reds if I find the reds for cheap.

While I'm mainly concentrating on the color refractor sets right now, I will still work on this eight-card set when I find them for a decent price. Three down, five to go.

Still disappointed that Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone wasn't in this set. Obviously due to her UD contract, but she would've had some cool cards.

Here's one of her Goodwin autos that I have, but it's missing that stars n stripes vibe:

I hope for 2028 they sign a lot more athletes and put way more autographs in it. I'm excited to see who all they throw in the 2026 Winter Olympic Chrome set; this is assuming they come out with one.

I also picked up another printing plate of a big-time athlete for way cheaper than I expected. I'll post a picture once it arrives.
