anybody that knocks soto at this point doesn't know what they're talking about and probably doesn't watch baseball

the As just gave a player $67 million - there is money in baseball. it is ok and won't affect your wellbeing.

Soto: "$700M, 12 years, and it's a deal. "
Cohen: "Done."

We're really doing batting average?

The A's deal also just might be a rich guy flashing cash so that Vegas thinks he will spend money. It's probably not coincidentally $1M more than their previously biggest free agent deal.

at this point from a Yankees standpoint I don't think the outrage would be what most think. The majority of Yankees fans went into this knowing he likely wasn't coming back. At this point I think it's Dodgers or Mets with an outside chance Yankess get a miracle. All the other teams are just conversation pieces that everyone knows have no shot like Toronto.

Dailymail reported that the Red Sox have made the biggest offer. Both sources are questionable. But ESPN says they expect an announcement on Monday and press conference on Tuesday at winter meetings

I really hope we find out soon. I want him to stay a Yankee but I have a feeling it will be the Mets

But its a bidding war, and the Yankees HAVE to have him, plain and simple. Without him they are back to .500ish

He's worth it because he's a difference maker. Consolation prizes like Teoscar and Bregman are not

Are Yankee fans completely out on Dominguez? I thought he was supposed to be the next Soto or Mantle He would be the logical plan B. And then you add Bregman, Teoscar or Alonso if Mets sign Soto. And they have two guys that should fill Soto's production.

He's arguably the best all around player in all of MLB, he will set financial records with this wherever he ends up.

Except he's not a good outfielder and will eventually be a DH

And the fans will hate Hal that he let a beloved player leave especially if it's to the Mets or Red Sox.

I'm hoping Dominguez is the starting center fielder this year. They need to move Judge out of that position.

It will be a crazy overpay. $600-$700M for a player with no speed and average defense, not even a 5 tool player.

Bobby Witt Jr got 11 years at $288M and I'd take him any day over Soto. It's not even close.

Witt got so little because he was too big of a pussy to gamble on himself. Just like all these other young guys who have sacrificed hundreds of millions of dollars because they have no confidence in their future performance and health. Soto took the risk and he will be rewarded. You can’t compare the contracts guys like Witt got. There hasn’t been a player of this caliber at this age in free agency since ARod.

Soto just finished his age 25 season. He should improve over what he has already done. He wont hit his prime for another 2-3 seasons.

Just move the PayPerView fee to $2 per person, per game, and give the man the full Billion. What’s taking so long?

Teams should ask the Angels about spending $245,000,000 on A Rendon till 2026. Rendon has had 1,095 Plate Appearances Regular & Post season with only 2 more years of that contract. He was fairly healthy before being signed. Risk vs Reward. I would split the difference and not go after Soto for that much. I would rather sign Vientiane to a long term contract for a third of the Soto tag, IMO.
