What’s best format to chase some Wemby rookies?

Was it Panini Prizm 2023-24? And best place to buy is just secondary market? Thank you

Making the play in will be tough with Minny and Dallas already on the outer and will no doubt get back in there or above.
Wiz are so bad I was kind of hoping Nesmith would get traded to them* just so he could show off his team-building skills without the reputation of Hali and Siakam hovering above.

With Double A out with a medium term ankle injury... makes it even more likely? Go Mathurin!

Sorry, I just can't get over the photoshop on Wemby's flagship Prizm. it's like 10th on my prospective list, when I have money to eat. The fact that the above is a legitimate question is sad.

*As an NBA writer speculated, as a way of securing a center when Wiseman and Ijax went down.

Dude is the next big thing no doubt! Baring injury. Skys the limit as he’s going to continue to improve.

Besides injuries there are two things that worry me, rebounding and FG percentage, these two need to be better given his size and position. Also, he needs to stop shooting threes but I believe someone else mentioned this already.

Wemby is shooting 38.3% from 3 over his last 10 games. I wouldn’t say it’s a matter of him stopping shooting threes, but just learning to be smarter with his shot selection, which will come over time. The three is going to be a pretty sizable part of his game, and it’s really starting to work now that he’s broken his slump.

The biggest question is - is Wemby likeable or is he just a freak show?

Players with a 30 Point driple double before turning 21:
- Luka
- LeBron
- Fox
- now Wemby

He's currently averaging the most 3 point attempts per game ever for a player in his second season

Just like Hali gets 15 attempts to get his stroke right, even when he is missing. Eventually that does come around or you cede leadership. Looks like he is on the right track, which will open basketball card capital and rise other boats.

He started last season slow and awkward shooting-wise. But the knock is the quality of 3s he takes. It’s easy to mistake his size for post dominance but he is not that player yet. What was encouraging last night was watching him identify and find other spots on the court to score. That’s where he ultimately needs to be

Also, from what I saw in the Grizz and similar games with Hali, teams are now allowed to assign players to physically hack and hold key players and not get a whistle.

He loves the game, wants to win and is a super hard worker. What's not to like?

How many times was this said in Zion threads from 2019-2022?

As far as I know Wemby doesn't overeat and get hurt constantly (he was out for a few this season but it was a pretty minor stretch)

Same as Austin Reaves and Dalton Knecht.

The Zion comparison was dumb, I agree because they aren't even remotely similar .

What he said is still relevant for all players.

Being a "hard worker" or that he "loves to win" is meaningless at the NBA level. Every star player has those qualities.

Is he making them? Anyone can shoot a lot, its making them that counts.

wants to win (wants to do what it takes to win) and loves to win are not the same. There are a lot of "star" players just collecting the bag. Big difference. The point is he is dedicated and comes off as authentic, which are likable qualities.

I like that the off-season plan appears to have been to jack up the three ball even more. Has now taken more threes than twos. Shooting 35.3% beyond 10 feet, and 72.9% within 10 feet. Help it make sense.

Watched slemby up close last night.

Very disappointed. Literally, good things happen when Wemby is in the paint or gets the ball in the paint.

He might be the worse player in the NBA when he catches the ball on the perimeter.

He did the same to me when they came to ATL. Only 1 trip a year at that. Laid a complete egg in the first half. Pop benched him to start the 3rd and he ended up with like 28 and they almost pulled that one out. There's a guard trapped in his frame and the opposing team gets bailed out anytime he takes the easy way out.

He’s lazy but doesn’t get hurt.
