CJ Stroud stuff is dropping like a rock

What is up for discussion and should be surprising is that a card dropped $3000 to $100 in 12 months.

Name me another card that has done this. Even Wander Franco bangin' underaged ninitas didn't crater any specific card to that extent.

This specific case is a combo of:
1) shiny object effect --> as 99.9% of posters have accurately identified
2) massive overpay/overvaluation of rare SSP RC inserts from first release products. And not any SSP, it seems like the market at the time thought that these would be rare/highly coveted. 12 months later, the hobby only cares of Downtowns and Kabooms.

#2 is playing a much larger significant role in this specific cards decline.

How is that surprising? I'm sitting on a mountain of TL that went down 90% in 3 yrs and I am sure more sadly after a horrific assault and battery today causing concussion and possible brain bleeding (been there!). Hope my guy is right but the number one thing i won't do is chase a new QB today! I'll also hold until Andrew Luck retirement or Boomer regardless shan't be a grand time!

Stroud is just as inept and lacks all ability as all prior OSU alums

Just doing some investigating of my own CJ stuff as I have flipped a lot of him.

I bought my CJ Chronicles Contenders Gold /10 for $1450 in Jan 2023
I sold that auto for $2150 in July,2024
The same card at auction sold for $493 in November, 2024
Now there is a PSA10 of it for sale for $2500

I bought a Stroud contenders /49 for $400 in Nov 2023 and sold it for $505 in May 2024 a PSA 9 of it is for sale for $450 OBO and a PSA10 sold in Oct 2024 for $450

I bought a Stroud NT /99 in Dec 2022 for $130 and sold it for $525 in Jan 2024. That card sold for $300 in Oct 2024

I bought a 2021 Bowman Next /99 in Jan 2024 for $300, and sold it for $275 in March 2024

I bought a 2022 Bowman Next /49 for $219 in Nov 2023, and sold it off Ebay for $650 in Spring of this year



I have 2 autos left of Stroud- A 2022 Bowman Next /10 that I got a great deal on in Nov. 2023-$500, & a 2022 Chronicles Contenders /25 that I paid $650 for in Jan 2024 and the last Chronicles autos /25 sold for $200-$250 range this fall

So there is no doubt there is fluctuation. I got out and made profits on almost all of mine. I am stuck w/ the Chronicles /49 but I am about to grade it as well as my Bowman Next /10- that's sealed and I hope it gems. I am going to hang onto those 2 long term, and I am going to buy the CJ dip after the holidays.

All of that being said- the prices on unlicensed Topps Composite are not doing terrible, well considering when they 1st hit people were overpaying for them, but it doesn't seem like the floor dropped out, people just spent too much on them to begin with

Funny, he was 4/10 for 41 yards a pick and no TDs. Mac Jones came in cold and was 20/32 for 235, 2 TDs and no picks- YET SOMEHOW, Trevor would have gotten it done. You clearly are someone living in a fantasy world and not to be taken seriously
