The ebbs and flows fascinate me. My sales have grown and grown. There were some plateaus last year, and it was solely the inventory I was listing. I was listing more and more inventory, but the sales generally stayed even or slightly went up. Liquid inventory is key.

I follow some reseller channels on Youtube and in the past couple days it seems every reseller with a garage sale/flea market store inventory is complaining that something is going on in the back end with eBay.

To go along with the inventory, it also who is on the card matters too. If they have a break out game, season or do something notable that they previously didn't. There stuff will spike up with all the cheaper cards being bought up first (if you have it listed too cheap then you won't maximize the profit, but too expensive will deter people from buying).

I learned you definitely need a healthy blend of sports, years, players along with RC in general.

They always say this. Haha. Being at home all the time I watch most of those as well. The conspiracy theorys that get pushed are quiet amusing at times. I know of a few who actually think there is a person sitting at a desk working for ebay watching videos and when they hear something they don't like the hit the "no sales" button for those people.

Although highs and lows do happen, and software glitches happen, that isn't usually the reason for slow sales. Seasons, changing in listing habits, changes in account health, stale inventory, new inventory, etc all have much for power than we usually give credit for. I believe its Tech who says it best. You think ebay is broke? List a new iphone for slightly under market price and see if it sells or not. That will tell you if its ebay or us, as sellers.

This always amazes me. I made $30 this morning off of junk Mark Vientos cards. Cards that I wouldn't even list today. You just never know.

Has anybody else been getting the Captcha Death Loop?

It started with downloading labels. Instead of downloading the label, it would download a captcha. That causes me extra steps to get the label printed.

Now it has infected me paying for items. If I pay for more than a few items at a time, I will get a captcha, complete it, only to get another captcha. Rinse repeat. Rinse repeat. Rinse repeat.

I've gone through a bunch of troubleshooting steps. The one thing that has worked for the most part is using Firefox instead of Chrome. The other night even Firefox wasn't working, but I was able to use my phone's hotspot instead of my home wifi and that worked well enough for a short period of time.

This hasn't hurt me so far, but I feel like when my volume quadruples it could come back to bite me. I contacted eBay and they are aware of the problem, are "working" on it, but also trying to blame Chrome.

Yeah, it comes and goes. Only thing that's worked for me has been either changing browsers or changing devices. Sometimes changing browsers will work and other times that will fail and changing devices will work.

Yeah I've been getting it here for weeks too. Very annoying.

So we slowed down, but over 1316 cards sold. Not bad for the month.

Looks like they made it harder to view completed items. Takes you to an active item without the link to the completed listing you clicked on.

This captcha death loop is getting comical. It has now infected Firefox as well. Fortunately I only had one item left to pay for tonight when it happened.

I now need to use Firefox to print ESE labels because Chrome downloads catpcha instead ofthe label.

I need to use Chrome to print 7x2 lables because no matter how much I fiddle with the settings in Firefox, it's only using half the label.

I can purchase some cards using Chrome, but then it will give me a captcha. I will complete that captcha, then it will give me another. Over and over.

I had been able to finish paying for everything else on Firefox...until tonight, when I got the captcha death loop.

Over 500 sales again this month with it going up since June each month. Not as much $ amount from last month but volume went up.

October was going to be my worst month since I started tracking this way, if not for a $400 sale on Oct. 30. It still ends up my 2nd worst month, behind only September, 2022. I'm down 19% from last year despite 68% more inventory. If I compare to two years ago, I'm down half.

Last year my inventory more than doubled in November, but sales stayed flat compared to October. It will be interesting to see if I follow a similar pattern this year. I know beyond a reasonable doubt that my inventory is going to start shooting upward based on what's incoming. The only question is will the sales follow?

1322 Cards Sold best moth for total Cards sold and $$. Best month since last August and 2nd with over $2k in sales at $2800. I got something special happening in the next couple months with some product coming from a friend so we will see how that works out. Also new Scanner will be bought in December and will make that transition then as well to beef up the store with more inventory.

For eBay, does anyone use the Social Marketing where you can tie you social media accounts to eBay? Do you like it or not? Do you see an increase in sales?

Overall, I can't complain. This year has been a record-breaking year for me in terms of single year sales. But, October was by far my worst month so far in 2024.

My inventory and sales have become stagnant on my PWE store. Does the End & Relist trick still help?

It does some times. Just go and end your oldest listings and sell similar again. You may need to revise and update like shipping cost or item specifics. Also re-evaluating and revising while maybe lowing your prices on some items.

I just got the captcha loop and I tried using Edge and same issue. Fortunately the purchase went through and I just had to go back to the main ebay page. What a pain!

As a buyer which has a narrow focus of collecting and not really looking at E-Bay all the time (once a week). I do have a few sellers that I keep checking out as I have purchased from them, and they do have some more cards for me. They have had cards that I want for over a year priced the same and I'm not willing to pay that much.

So I would say re-evaluating is where to start at.
Most buyers think of the total cost of the card.

Especially with new releases become close to a year old. A $5 card will soon become a $2-3

I finally got my app, CardCobra, launched! it's the tool I created to automate turning Kronocard exports into singles/lots for eBay. It's been live for a little over a week now and I'm almost done onboarding everyone on the waitlist. My mom came into town today to stay for a few days and help take care of my kids so I have a lot of slots open to finish up onboarding. I figured I'd drop the waitlist offer into this thread for anyone who has read my rants and was interested. The waitlist offer is a lifetime $50/mo subscription. Lets you do unlimited singles/lot listings to as many stores as you want. My target market is primarily stores with a few employees who are paying for multiple Kronocard eBay connector subscriptions. I've saved a few people hundreds to over a thousand bucks per month in subscription costs on Kronocard/CDP plus it's just a better product too.

I made a demo video shortly before I launched to the email list that you can check out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OasroeFsrjk

If you want to sign up and book an onboarding, here's the link to that: https://calendly.com/paulcarl/card-cobra-onboarding

The tool itself is awesome and I've already done 4 or 5 updates since launching to add features requested by users (like adding the option to just create the images without automatically uploading them so that they can automate images for TCG/nonsports lots). Added support for ebay.ca and au/fr are in the works. There's tons of tiny details like the "nickname detector" so if you list a Shaquille O'Neal card it will also add "Shaq" to the title so you don't miss out on that keyword's traffic. I could go on and on but the tl;dr is that I built my dream card listing tool for myself and then other people wanted to pay me for it and now, almost a year later, that's now possible.

Is Safari not an option? I do not understand using inferior browsers.
